Five gels

The group is huddled in the left and right corner of the tunnel with their backs to the wall, keeping an eye on both the path in and out. That should make it difficult for any Towerling coming out to see them. But what comes out of the opening toothy gate is something they’ve never seen before, nor anything intelligence has informed them about. Five walking lumps of slime. One yellow, one green, two of a different shade of blue and one pink. Each of them has the shape of a human woman, but are completely see through.

“Great, another enemy species to contend with.” Eve thinks.

Eve keeps her rifle pointed at the first slimegirl. Someone else is probably already aiming at the second. Gabriella is standing next to her. She's aiming her pistol at the Towerlings, but unlike Eve her hands are shaking. Eve lets one hand off her rifle and puts it on the Latina’s hands, and Gabriella quickly calms down. If these Towerlings don’t see them, they will probably just leave. No need to draw their attention, which is what a gunshot would definitely do.

When the five Towerlings are far enough away Kirie make some hand motions to signify her troops to head for the open gate. Her troops respond and start moving silently towards the toothy gate. Frost and Fire are the first to get in, followed by Nicole and Clarissa.

Suddenly a shot is heard. Everybody turns around and see smoke coming from Samantha’s gun. It is aimed at the slime Towerlings and all five of them are now looking directly at the Recon Team.

“They saw us!” Lizette yells and joins Samantha in shooting at the towerlings.

The other soldiers still outside the tower aim their guns at the gels as well and start firing. They can see their bullets enter the gel’s bodies and exit them again without leaving any lasting damage. The yellow gel moves through the hail of bullets with unexpected speed and barrels into Sasha. The girl gets pushed over due to the **** of the impact and falls to the side.

Samantha and Gabriella start panicking and break off from the attack to rush into the tower.

The pink gel surprises Felicia by extending her arms and grabbing her rifle, pulling it out of Felicia’s hands and throwing it away. Felicia makes a fist and screams as she tries to punch the pink gel in the face. But her fist gets stuck in the slime, which sends out tentacles to latch on to Felicia and pull Felicia into herself.

Alice has the greatest difficulty firing at the gels. Her sniper rifle is simply not meant for close range combat like this. Once the gels get too close for comfort, she decided to grab he gun by the barrel and use it as a blunt object instead. At least she’ll hit something this way, she figures. The gel coming for her is one of the two blue ones. Alice focuses on the orb it’s got in its chest and jams the butt of her gun against it. She pounds the core hard enough for it to get pushed out of the gel’s body. The moment the core exits the slime, the gel loses her shape and splashes as a liquid all over Alice. The sniper starts fighting off the gel, but there is no response from it. The slime she is covered in has lost its sentience.

Audrey has also been aiming at the core of the blue slime coming for her. Only the gel keeps moving her core around in her torso and keeps avoiding the bullets. When she’s close enough the gel creates a big hole in her torso, and thrusts it over Audrey’s M60. Then she reforms her body by closing the hole and traps Audrey’s weapon and arms inside her, becoming solid as a rock. For a moment Audrey and the blue gel look at each other. The gel smiles at her, then turns her head into a tentacle and wraps it around Audrey’s shoulders.

As the roses are fighting against the gels the gate slowly starts to close again. When Kirie sees it she yells “Everybody, get inside the tower!”

Lizette breaks off her attack on the green gel and jumps between the teeth into the tower. Alice, still covered in blue slime, slips between the teeth as well and joins the others inside. Eveline makes a move to head inside, but the green gel starts sneaking up on her. Kirie sees it advancing and pushes Eveline out of the way just as the green gel launches herself at the blonde Lieutenant. The green gel barrels into the Captain instead and pushes her to the ground.

“Go! Get inside!” Kirie yells.

Not wanting to waste her sacrifice, Eveline rushes to the gate and jumps between the teeth before it is too late. Her clothes get caught by some of the teeth, causing her shirt to rip, but other than that she gets inside unharmed.

As the gate closes ever so slowly, the roses inside can only watch what the gels are doing to their comrades left on the other side of the gate.

Sasha’s clothes have all disappeared. Dissolved by the yellow gel on her. Her breasts are completely covered in the yellow liquid and are moving, almost like the gel is groping her boobs.
