They find Colin and Jennifer joins them

Zack could admit that hanging out with Chloe was a nice change of pace from the situation he was experiencing with Victoria and Heather. Sure, he enjoyed immensely the encounters that he had with the two girls, but he was also feeling that his head would explode any moment now if he didn’t take a break from all the drama he was getting lately.

Chloe always had the ability to make him smile when he was down, her cheerful mood was contagious to everybody around her. She didn’t want to talk about the previous day, which made Zack worry that it happened more than she was letting on. However, he decided to drop the matter so that she wouldn’t get upset.

“So, how far to the cave yet?” Chloe asked during their walk back. “I didn’t have the chance to see it yesterday.”

“We shouldn’t take long,” Zack replied. “We’re already past the sign.”

Zack was right, about ten minutes later they reached the cave’s entrance. There, beside a motorcycle, stood a male forest ranger that he didn’t know, but Chloe did from the previous day.

“Colin!” The redhead said, excited to meet again the man who helped her.

“Oh, you’re that young lady from yesterday,” Colin recognized her. “I’m not sure you told me your name, though.”

“Sorry about that, I was in a hurry yesterday, so I forgot to introduce myself,” She said with a sheepish look. “I’m Chloe.”

“Well, you already know that my name’s Colin,” He extended a hand to her and she shook it. “Who’s your friend there?”

“I’m Zack, I came looking for Chloe.” He said and shook hands with the ranger as well.

“What are you doing here, Colin?” Chloe asked, curiously.

Colin scratched the back of his neck. “Well, another ranger, Jennifer White, called the station requesting help for something here at the cave,” He told them. “I was the only one that could go.”

“Yeah, it was something I told her, I found a couple of bear costumes in the cave last night.” Zack explained.

“Bear costumes?” Colin chuckled. “You’re sure of that?”

“Well,” Zack shrugged. “Unless someone did a damn good job of skinning two bears, then yes, I’m sure that it was two suits.”

“Weird, man.” Colin chimed in.

At the moment, the loud noise of another motorcycle was heard ad, surely enough, Jennifer appeared from between the trees riding her vehicle, which was identical to the one Colin had. The female ranger took off her helmet and smiled at the group. She fished a small paper package from her backpack and walked over to them.

“Good, everyone’s here,” Jennifer said as she approached the other three. “Let’s get in?”

“Yes, I’ll show you where Victoria and I found the suits, c’mon.” Zack took the lead, with Jennifer by his side and Chloe and Colin behind them.

Jennifer handed the package to him. “Heather sent more food for you guys.”

“Uhn, thanks, we’ll need it later.” Zack said, taking his backpack and putting the sandwiches inside it. He then fished out Victoria’s flashlight, she had figured that it was best if he held on to the object.

Jennifer and Colin took their own flashlights from their belts as well. “Ok, show it to us then, Zack,” Colin prompted. “I still don’t believe it, but what the hell, maybe you’ll surprise us.”

“Right this way.” Zack sad, ignoring the jab. They turned on the flashlights when they entered the cave, since it was only slightly more illuminated compared to how it was at night.

Their group of four walked for a few minutes to the wider area where Zack and Victoria had found the bear suits.

“Here we are.” Zack announced.
