They're saved by unexpected allies

"Oh~... please stop..."

"Go on, give in to your jealousssy and ssserve me..." Envy hissed as she stretched her mouth out, her two dangerously sharp fangs ready to bite, but just as she was at the cusp of drawing demon blood the door flew off its hindges and flopped against the floor. Two cloaked figures came in, and using magick that Belial thought looked awfully familiar, they bound envy in phantom chains before she could even strike back. She raged with madness, flailing herself, roaring and hissing, but little by little she was brought down, to her knees and then to a fetal position. The two mysterious strangers finished neutralising Envy before drawing their attention to the trapped demons. One of them smeared the circles that bound them with their foot, breaking them. Belial cautiously stepped out and stood before them with her hands on her hips.

"I guess I should thank you for getting us out, whomever you are."

The two strangers let down their hoods. One was a boy and the other a girl, very obviously twins. They were both taller than Belial, but just a tad shorter than Jaylee. They had freckles on their faces, and the girl had her hair tied down in a braid finished with a bow. Belial chuckled to herself.

"Heh, you two look just like Esau."

"We're in the right place, she knows grandpa," the boy said to his sister.

"Of course we're in the right place you doofus, grandpa is never wrong about these things."

Jaylee scratched her head in confusion. "Who are they? What's going on?"

"It's a long story, but the short version is that Esau helped me get this crown. I'm guessing these are his... grandchildren."

"More like he gave the crown to you," the boy quipped, "he told us all about you."

"Only good things I hope?" She grinned. Their only reactions were deadpan faces.

"Grandpa Esau saw a vision that you were in the mortal realm to get the seven deadly sins, so he sent us to assist you in any way."

Belial raised an eyebrow at the twins. "Why would he do that? Last time I saw him he said he didn't want anything to do with me." They shrugged.

"Well you came in the nick of time; I almost got bit!" Jaylee rubbed her neck up and down. "What are your names anyway?"

"I'm Essa," said the girl.

"And I'm Jacob," said the boy.

Essa pointed at Naamah. "Sorry we didn't come in time to save the succubus."

Belial picked the succubus up with surprising ease. "I think she'll be fine. A trip to Lilith and she should be back to normal. I suppose I'll take her there along with Envy. Jaylee, I leave you in charge of finding the next sin, Greed."

Jaylee stammered. "W-what? Really? Are you sure?"

"You just have to find them, by then I'm sure I'll catch up." She picked up Envy with her free hand and heaved her onto her shoulder. The size difference looked quite ridiculous. Then, with the flick of her wrist the air tore open, a portal back to Gehinnom. She looked back before stepping through it. The next moment both she and the portal were gone.

Jaylee took a moment to take everything in. "Well damn, where do I go from here?"
