Sin #2: Greed

Jacob and Essa watched Jaylee with cautious eyes. Sure they were helping the demons out with something important, but one can't blame them for not being entirely trustworthy of beings known to be, well, untrustworthy. It's been a couple hours since their encounter with Envy, and they were all sitting in the back of a fancy black car being driven by a chaperone. Jaylee rapped her fingers against her knees, awkwardly flittering her gaze around, looking at the rich interior.

"You guys must be really loaded," Jaylee said eventually, dispelling the uneasy atmosphere that had gathered.

"Our grandfather IS a King," said Essa.

"Used to be," Jacob added. Essa grimaced.

"Oh? Of what country?"

"It was a small but rich country in the Balkans."

Jaylee looked a little confused at their answer. Essa relented.

"It doesn't exist anymore, and it's probably for the best if nobody remembers it. Long story short; there was a magical mishap and it's... neither here nor there." She paused. "If that makes sense. It's complicated, is rather not talk about it."

"Alright." Jaylee shifted in her seat. Jacob kept peeking at her naked body from the corner of his eye.

"I hope we get there soon, I'm getting terribly tempted."

"Oh knock it off you pig," his sister said, giving him a solid thwack to the back of the head, before turning back to the demon, "sorry we forgot to grab your clothes while we were back there. You can borrow some of ours when we get to the manor."

"I don't even remember getting naked if I'm being honest," Jaylee said, pointing out how the author forgot to mention she was stripped two pages ago. Essa gave her a short half smile. Quite some time passed, and Jaylee took a nap. By the time she woke up they've gotten quite far to where they needed to be. They passed a fancy looking gate that swung open automatically when they got near. The driveway was quite long for a driveway. Soon the car stopped in front of the manor. The car doors were opened by a servant, and the trio climbed out. Jaylee looked at the manor with amazement. She's never been anywhere close to a fancy house like this one before, and she felt quite in awe of it. It was a long and tall Georgian manor, with tasteful ivy growing up the walls, the white windows big but not too large. White steps led up to a pair of heavy oaken doors. Essa and Jacob were already climbing up the stairs by the time Jaylee was done gawking.

"Come on, don't just stand there, we have lots of plans to make," one of the called out, breaking the demon out of her daze.

The inside was surprisingly tame for what she was expecting. It was pleasant to the eye but nothing grand. Everything wooden was rich mahogany, and the walls were green, old and faded but quaint and gentlemanly. A servant helped the twins with their coats.

"We've got some important things to do real quick, but our servants will be more than happy to get you anything you want," Jacob said, "clothes are upstairs and if you're hungry the kitchen is past that way."

"Just remember we've got our eye on you demon, so don't do anything stupid," Essa added.

"Right, what she said. But you are a guests so, make yourself at home."

"Hey don't worry, I'm not really a bad person you know." Jaylee crossed her arms. With a raise of half-disbelieving eyebrows the twins left Jaylee alone in the foyer.
