The night before her wedding

I flew home from Memphis conflicted. Jess had been such a bitch when she didn’t know who I was, but the sex was so fucking great. The whole plane ride I thought about her long legs and soft moans.

But I didn’t text her, and she didn’t text me. After a month I started to forget about her, especially after I became exclusive with Monica.

Things were going great between us, and I had asked her to move in with me. Then I got a wedding invitation in the mail. It did not include a plus one.

I decided to break our silence and text Jess.

Me: [Hey Jess! I just got your wedding invitation. Congratulations again! I noticed I didn’t have a plus one on the invite. I have a girlfriend who I would like to bring. Is that possible?]

Jess: [Thank you again! I’m glad you got the invitation. I got your address from Carol. And sorry, we are on a really tight budget and are limited on the guests we can have. I really hope you can still come.]

Monica read the texts and said, “She sounds like a bitch. If you really want to go alone, you can. It’s your decision and your money. And it’s probably a good thing I’m not invited. I don’t really have the PTO with my new job to take the time off.”

Since Jess was a really good friend, I decided to go alone. Monica trusted me. She didn’t know I had some strange sex pact with Jess. Besides Jess was literally getting married, the pact was over. I just wanted to help celebrate her big day.

I flew into Knoxville the day before the wedding. I wasn’t invited to the rehearsal or anything, but I did stay at the hotel where they had rooms reserved. I texted Carol to see if she was here, but she wasn’t getting in until the next day.

I was a little lost. I didn’t just want to spend the evening in my hotel room. I texted Meg. The last conversation we had was me apologizing for falling asleep and not answering her text.

Me: [Hey Meg. I’m in town for the wedding. Anything going on after the rehearsal dinner tonight?]

Meg: [Hey! Yeah I think so! Just hang out in the hospitality room we have set up in the hotel, and we’ll meet you there]

So I went searching for this hospitality room. Most of the conference rooms were locked, but I did find one that was open. There were decorations inside, and it looked like the HQ for prepping the wedding. There was a long table filled with ****, and a cooler filled with beer.

I had to decide if it was a whiskey or beer night.

I poured myself some whiskey, and put some ice in it. If I’m going to sit around drinking alone, I might as well drink something hard. I had finished my first pour by the time random people starting coming into the room. I had to introduce myself as a friend to the bride.

I didn’t know them and they didn’t know me. I didn’t make any new friends through small talk.

By my third pour, family from the rehearsal dinner started pouring into the room. My distance from the bride and groom became more obvious. Then Meg walked into the room: gorgeous as ever, her foxy brown hair flowing, her bushy eyebrows now trimmed, ready for her role as maid of honor tomorrow. Her big eyes lit up when she saw me. She bounded across the room to hug me. I squeezed her tight: fuck she still had such a nice body.

The room really started to fill up. There was a ton of family at their rehearsal dinner. This was not going to be a small wedding.

As I was finishing up my third pour, a guy in a button down and jacket shook my hand, “Thanks for coming. We appreciate that you traveled so far to be here.”

I was a little confused. I introduced myself, “Hi I’m Chandler. Friend of the bride.”

He laughed, “Yeah I know. I’m the groom, Brad. We’ve met before at another wedding. And I’ve hear a lot about you since.”

I shifted uncomfortably. I had forgotten that Jess liked to tell him stories about me while he jacked off. I said, “Yeah. Jess is a good friend. Of course I’d be here to celebrate her wedding.”

“And to honor the pact,” he winked and pat me on the back as he moved on to talk to other guests.

I finished my glass, and went to get another pour. I forgot he knew so much, and was into it. This was a set up. They didn’t want me to bring my girlfriend. They wanted me alone.

I looked around the round. I saw Jess’s bright red hair surrounded by a group of people. My phone started vibrating with a call from Monica. I went out in the hall to take it.

“Hello?”

“I miss you.”

“I miss you too.”

“Are you having fun?”

“Eh, at least the drinks are free so far.”

“Don’t get too drunk, because I’m not there to have wild sex with you.”

“No. You’re not. I sort of wish I stayed home.”

“You’d regret your decision even more if I told you what panties I’m wearing.”

“What panties are you wearing?”

She giggled, “I’m not telling. You can picture them tonight with your hand all alone in your room. Goodbye. I miss you.”

“I miss you too. Have a nice night. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

I hung up and leaned against the wall. I didn’t feel like going back in that crowded room. I didn't know if I wanted to see Jess again. I didn’t know if I wanted to keep the pact and fuck her. I knew that if she had her long legs spread in front of me I would fuck her. I cared about Monica too much. I couldn’t cheat on her. I needed to get out of this situation. It was dumb to come here.

A soft female voice cut through my mental conversation asking, “That room too much for you too?”

I looked up, and then looked down at the short girl in front of me. Big forehead, straight brown and dyed blonde hair parted down the middle, a too tight too short dress that showed off the cleavage of her obviously fake round tits, her skin a brown tan from lying in a UV bed. She was way out of my league, and I don’t know why she was talking to me.

I stammered, “Yeah. I’m a friend of the bride. I worked with her like three years ago. I don’t know why I came to the wedding. I don’t know anybody but her and her sister Meg.”

“Well know you’ll know the bride’s new sister-in-law. Hi, I’m Caitlyn.” She held out her hand and I shook it.

“You’re Brad’s sister” I asked?

“Yeah. That’s the only reason I’m here. To be honest, I don’t really like Jess. She’s sort of a bitch.”

I laughed, “What makes you say that?”

She glances behind her to make sure we’re the only ones in the hall. “Don’t tell anyone, but at her bachelorette party, Meg hired this amateur stripper. The poor guy had no clue what he was doing. And Jess was such an asshole to him. Seriously if she treats a stranger who is trying to entertain her like that, then I don’t want my brother marrying her.”

“Did you tell him about the incident?” I asked.

“Well I didn’t give specifics, but I let him know what I thought of her. There’s a reason I’m not in the bridal party.”

My phone vibrated in my pants. I glanced at it quickly.

Jess: [Where’d you go? Room 322 at midnight.]

That was still an hour and a half away. I should just go be bed, and go to sleep. Go to the ceremony, skip the reception and get an early flight home.

Caitlyn gestures to the empty cup in my hand, “What were you drinking?”

“Whiskey,” I answered. “And I could definitely use some more.”

She gives me a smile of brilliant white teeth, “I have a much better bottle than this swill up in my room, if you’d like to join me for a drink.”
