The Men of Letters Bunker

"Argh...my head," I grunted as I came to.

For a moment, I wondered if I dreamt the whole thing but then I noticed where I was.

"The bunker of the Men of Letters," I muttered in awe. "It's really true."

"And, unfortunately for you, more complicated than it had to be," A voice said in my mind.

I started. "God?"

"Naturally," He said. "You see, I deliberately stopped myself from glimpsing into the future because I was curious to see where you would end up first. And I have to say, you already surpassed my expectations when it comes to bad luck. Of all the regions in the multiverse, you choose one of the worst possible routes to take you to your destination."

I shivered a bit, remembering the Shadow. "That was the cosmic entity that ruled the Empty, wasn't it?"

"Bingo," God said somberly. "He and his realm of nothingness are the only things in the multiverse that predates me, you know. Normally we just avoid each other. But, as your abilities are still slightly inferior to my own, he was able to seriously damage your connection to my ultimate source of power as it kicked you out of his territory. Talk about beating the odds when it comes to bad luck in the immeasurably huge multiverse."

"Damn. Can you heal my connection?"

"Yes, but I won't," He declared. "The experiment is already underway now."

I sighed. "I am new at this nigh-omnipotence thing, you know? Couldn't you have given me a warning about places that wouldn't be a good idea to visit before I started?

"That would have just defeated the purpose," He replied. "But don't worry too much. Your powers are still higher than the archangels of this world on a one-on-one basis and your connection will be restored completely in a decade or so. Until then, there is just a limit of how much you can do at once before taking a break and your connection to omnipotence needs to reboot for a while."

"Right," I said slowly. "Anything else I should know about?"

"Well, there is a little fact the Shadow of the Empty also threw you off course," He stated. "You are not actually in the main world of Supernatural but in one of its very similar alternate realities."

My eyes widen. "Where? The Apocalypse world?"

"No, you are in the alternate universe from Season 5 where Sam said yes to Lucifer and the Croatoan virus was ravaging humanity," He explained. "Only it hasn't happened yet as you landed a few years before that event."

Before I could think far about possibilities to avert that disaster, the disembodied voice echoed in my head again.

"You should probably know, every universe has certain key moments that are fixed in history no matter how terrible they are, and the only way overpower its locks in time without damaging the universe even worse in the process is with power on my scale," He informed. "That means I wouldn't advise you to mess with fixed points in history like Sam saying yes until after you have regained your omnipotence fully, especially because until then, you won't be able to rely on your powers to dimension jump. But it's up to you in the end."

I frowned at that, trying to decide what would be the best course of action in that case.

"Finally," He said, "It appears that surviving the might of the Empty head-on had the unintended side effect of erecting a shadowy ward around you. Until that wears off, whenever it may be, you are a blind spot in the supernatural senses of the creatures of this world even if they will be able to notice things about you with their normal senses."

I nodded slowly. That should be useful while I am still learning the ropes. Wouldn't want the Archangels of the Host, the Princes of Hell and the Alpha monsters from Purgatory to make a truce in an attempt to kill me while I am still somewhat **** if they were to consider me a major threat.

"Indeed," God replied. "Well, that's it. I look forward to seeing what you do next. Enjoy your powers and your new life."

Before I could thank him, I felt the telepathic link get cut off. I looked around and took a deep breath.
