The Book Club

Bell rang so everyone packed their stuff and left the classroom, but they didn't leave school - the clubs were about to start but not everyone had to stay because there were only the sports, gymnastics and book club so most of the guys and girls staid but Quincy, Caleb and Matthew for example were going home. I went to say goodbye to them and Quincy mocked me for being in the book club, i chuckled when he said "I know you only joined that club so you can talk to the girls but alright, we are going to the Funzone so see you tomorrow"

I wandered around campus, first i went to the football field where the sports club was practicing, i was going to the gym to see what the gymnastics girls were doing but then i heard someone call my name - Daisy was behind me, on the big ramp of the building at my left, she was going to the second floor to look for something but saw me and then yelled "Hey Dre! Come here! Help me with something!" I quickly went to the start of the ramp although i had to run a lot because it was all the way back at the main building but when i finally ran up that ramp i saw that Daisy was trying to carry a proyector - i helped her and basically carried the proyector by myself while she talked to me "We have to take this to the library where the other girls are waiting for us... do you think you can carry that all the way to the library?"

I looked at her and placed the proyector in one hand so now i had the other hand free and with that hand i made a thumbs up to her - she giggled and then said "Of course you can... you are soooo strooong" we both laughed and we kept talking while walking to the library.

I did have to use two hands to carry the proyector upstairs but it wasn't really difficult, Daisy ran to the library and since i kept walking at the same pace i took my time to look at the other club rooms to see that they were all fully decorated - i continued walking to the library and as i got closer i heard the voices of the girls inside.

I entered the library and the first thing i saw was Scarlet sitting on a couch in the main area with the tv, she turned her head to look at me and smiled, i returned the smile at her but then i heard May exclaim "André! You are here!" I looked at her and said with a smile "Of course i'm here" then Ellie said hi and i waved at her but i noticed that i still had the proyector so as i placed it down a table at the side of the room i said "You know i like hanging out with you girls and all but i don't appreciate using me as a cargo ****" they all laughed and then May asked Daisy "Why did you ask him to bring that?"

Daisy looked at her confused and asked "What do you mean?... you said that we were going to watch a video so we needed a proyector right?" May facepalmed and then said in a dissapointed tone "No Daisy, we don't need a proyector to watch a video... we have that smart tv that i linked with my phone so now we can watch vidros without problems" Daisy looked like she died inside, May and Scarlet laughed and then Scarlet said "André, we are sorry for asking you to carry that thing" then May added "Yeah, sometimes Daisy can be a little dumb so you know..." i looked at Daisy and she was covering her face from embarassment - i said "Aww, don't worry Daisy... is fine, is not like i had to carry a proyector through the whole campus so don't stress about it" she looked at me with a sad expression and quietly said "I'm sorry"

I smiled at her and i think she felt better, May said that she was still configuring some stuff with Ellie so i waited with Scarlet on the sofa - we talked for a while and then May announced "Alright, girls... well i'm getting tired of saying and guy, so you are now a girl André..." eveyone giggled and i looked at her with a joking frown before she continued saying "We are officially starting the book club, so the first thing we are going to do is watch a video from one of my favorite writers about the importance of literature and the passion of reading"

She turned the lights off and then i jokingly said "Ugh, what are you?... the english teacher??" Scarlet and Daisy tried holding their laughter but they couldn't help it, May looked at me infuriated and then sat next to me but pushed me a bit as she did - we were clearly joking but she was a little rough when she pushed me, she played the video on the tv and we watched for 12 minutes. I wasn't really paying attention and i tried talking with Scarlet that was next to me but May shushed us everytime we tried to talk during the video.

After the video ended May stood up and turned the lights on, he turned around and excitingly asked "So what do you think??" There was a small awkward silence and she clearly got triggered but then Ellie started saying something so she saved us from May's anger - she clearly cared a lot about this club and i thought that was cool but i knew that if i tried ruining it for her she would get mad Although... i would like to see May actually get mad or angry, that should be interesting i thought before Ellie stopped talking and May asked us

"And what about the rest of you... what do you think about the video?" I froze in the moment, i looked at Scarlet and she didn't have anything to say so i just stuttered "Uhhh... it was good?" May looked at me with a dead serious expression and said "Are you asking me a question?? I asked you what you thought about the video and you are asking me if it was good?"

I felt like she was going to snap on me so i tried apologizing "I'm sorry May, honestly i didn't pay much attention... i know you take this seriously but i just wanted to have fun and talk with you girls" she seemed to change her expression from serious to surprised, she said "Oh, thanks for being honest... do you really want to hang out with us?... maybe i'm being too boring with this club, i thought maybe we could learn stuff together and... well i get that you don't want to do that" i looked at her - she was now getting sad so i said "I mean, is okay if you like watching educational videos and this kind of stuff but yeah... i'm not really into that, it feels like an extra english class"

She looked at all of us and we all gave the same look to her, in that moment she probably realised that she her expectations of this club were different from us so she asked "Sooo, what would you like to do?" I replied "I just want to see what book we are going to read together" and then smiled at her - this made her happy and she quickly went to her backpack all cheerful and stuff, now she looked more excited than before.

We all got off the couch and went to see what May was going to do - she took out a few books out her backpack and she placed them on a large round table at the middle of the room, we all sat around that table and we looked at May covering the covers of the books with her arms, she leaned so her face was now right in front of us and we couldn't see what the books were, with a smile she said "Sooo, are you ready to see what books i have to show you?" She looked really excited and it was nice to see her like thag but i wanted to see the books so i tried looking at the covers of the books but since May was leaning forward and covering most of my view with her body i wasn't able to see much - apart from a little bit of cleavage which made me nervous, she was wearing a cute blouse but she wasn't showing much normally, but now of course that she leaned forward i was able to appreciate the roundness of her breasts hanging from that angle but just a little bit or her skin, it wasn't like she was flashing us. No, bad Dre... stop looking at that, just go back at staring her face i said to myself and so i did.
