Stay Or Go?

Stormed In

Zack gave one more look to the sky, deciding that the clouds didn't look that dark, but even so, they were a couple of hours deep in the woods right now, "You do know they are just some ratty cabins, right?"

A small giggle left the blonde, "Well yeah, no shit, but what's inside might be cool. Like maybe Heather's dad left some shit as a kid in one of these," Ashley retorted,

"Ooh we'll find Robert Raver's fabled coin collection," Zack sarcastically responded before letting out a chuckle,

Ashley joined him in the laugh before smiling sweetly, taking both of Zack's hands in hers, "C'mon Zack, pleeeeeeease," She softly begged,

Zack hung his head back, feigning an annoyed sigh before looking back to the girl with a grin, "Alright, since you asked so nice,"

Ashley let out a short cheer, "Great, now you go first!"

"Whoa, what? Why do I have to go first?" Zack asked as Ashley began to push him towards the nearest cabin,

"Because, what if there's a raccoon inside," Ashley said with a light grunt, "You need to protect me,"

"Oh, greeeeeeat..." Zack muttered back to the girl.

The duo began to go cabin to cabin, scrounging around inside them. Some had roofs completely caved in making them worthless, a few others were alright in condition and did yield some small finds, namely an old sleeping bag, a few old books, a backpack, and a weathered baseball bat. With the few trinkets in hand, they began to head to the final cabin in the clearing, a larger well constructed one with a small chimney stack. "Shit, the years may not have been kind to the rest of these cabins, but that one is holding up pretty good," Zack pointed out,

"Must be the counselor's cabin, those ones usually are the best," Ashley guessed as they walked, though suddenly Ashley felt a large wet drop hit the top of her head, "Oh no..." Ashley murmured while looking up, feeling a few more drops hit her face,

"Yeah... remember all those clouds I was talking about?" Zack sighed as he felt a few drops of his own, "We might want to get inside," Almost on cue, it began to downpour on the duo.

Ashley let out a short yell as she was quickly getting soaked, "Ah, Zack get that door open!" Ashley pleaded as they got onto the small porch. Zack tried to door, yet it was locked, with one swift slam of his shoulder, the teen busted the door open and the pair got themselves out of the rain. "Jesus Christ, what a fucking downpour," Ashley said as they tossed their items onto the floor,

"I know, right?" Zack agreed as he shook his head off from water while Ashley rang out her dripping blonde hair, "Something is telling me we aren't walking back to the cabin as long as this is going on,"

"It's already two if it doesn't stop in an hour, we're basically stuck here," Ashley groaned as she looked around the dust, abandoned cabin,

"I know, and this place has a major creep factor, like something straight out of a horror movie," Zack murmured while slowly walking around, "You know this is how a horror movie would start,"

"What?" Ashley scoffed, feeling a small chill run down her spine,

"Yeah, you know, two teenagers find this old abandoned camp, a sudden storm starts keeping them there while the crazed killer stalks them from the outside." Zack cryptically explained while continuing to walk through the cabin, "They'd start to hear branches breaking, scratching on the windows, and then just when they least expect it..." Zack lowly continued as he reached Ashley's backside, "He gets them!" He suddenly exclaimed causing the blonde girl to scream out,

"Zack! Stop that!" Ashley pouted while the teenager loudly started laughing,

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself," Zack said with a quick wipe of his wet eyes,

Ashley gave him a playful roll of her eyes, "Yeah, yeah, you're a riot," She sarcastically retorted while peaking back out the cabin door, "Think we could maybe walk it still, it's starting to slow down I think?"

Just then a loud boom of thunder rang out causing Ashley to jump back, her body bumping against Zack's, "Uhhh, I'm gonna say no," Zack announced as he placed a comforting hand on her shoulder,

"Damnit, so we're stormed in for the night," Ashley groaned as she pushed the old cabin door shut once more.

What's Happening With The Others? How Does The Night Go?
