Stay for dinner

You give her a smile and respond ‘Thank you Miss Midoriya that would be wonderful and it's very kind of you.’ She gives you a smile before responding ‘It’s the least I could do since you were taking care of my Izuku. It's always been his dream to be a hero and now he can make it come true. I just want him to be safe and support him as best I can.’ You smile at her kind words and reply ‘All of us there have the same goal and I hope we can all look at for each other while we are still students and don’t worry with the type of person Izuku is I am sure the whole class will like him soon enough he already has a few friends looking out for him.’ She smiles at your kind words ‘Your mother did a wonderful job raising you on her own. I know how hard it can be trying to work and raise a child on your own. And I know how much it can hurt to feel like you failed them.’

You chuckle as she turns to look at you before you continue ‘Sorry it’s just that since beginning to live with mum I’ve always been better then her at house work and she got competitive over it so when she can she does everything but she usually lets me know in advance if she won’t be home in time. But well you know how work can be, she got called away to do something urgent.’ She smiles and turns back to her job at hand before asking ‘What does your mum do then?’ you respond casually ‘She’s a pro hero.’ At this you see her begin to drop a plate and you quickly use your quirk to catch it. She looks at it surprised for a moment then to you and picks up the plate ‘Sorry you took me by surprise there I wasn’t expecting your mum to be a pro.’ You get up and move over to the counter and respond ‘Don’t worry about it most people are caught off guard by it so many people put pros on a pedestal and for them it becomes hard to imagine them as anything else and living any sort of life sort of like how students see their teachers.’

The woman beside you chuckles at that comparison remembering her own school days and how true that is before continuing ‘If you don’t mind me asking who is it then.’ You smile and respond ‘As long as you don’t mind me helping you cook I’ll tell you.’ She nods her head giving you a faint smile as you continue ‘It’s My Lady she raised me and helped me become who I am today.’ She seems a bit surprised and brushes it off as the two of you gossip and chat while preparing dinner.

Once the meal is nearly done you notice Izuku stirring as he sits up from the couch and looks over at the counter seeing you cooking with his mum he seems shocked as he moves over to the dinner table as he asks ‘Jasmine what are you doing here? Don’t you need to get home?’ you smile as his mum tells you ‘Go on it’s just waiting now I can serve go speak to him.’ You nod and go sit across from Izuku as you respond ‘Mum got held up with hero work and we have nothing quick to make and with such late notice I had very few options your mum when she found out offred to let me stay for dinner.’ You smile as he nods his head as you make idle chatter as you two discuss your quirks and other quirks in the class while speculating how they passed the practical exam.

Not long into the conversation his mother serves the food and you eat together after the meal and washing it up quite late you get up ‘I am so sorry but I probably get going now and leave you two to enjoy your leaving I am sure you have a lot to discuss.’ As you leave Izuku seems surprised as he mum calls out ‘You can stay the night if you want you can sleep in the spare room and borrow some night clothes.’
