Chapter 4 by Warden-Yarn15 Warden-Yarn15

What book did Elizabeth find?

Souless Seas and Englishmen

As I flipped through the books, I only witnessed foxing in the pages of the book instead of words or even a letter. There was no index, no first chapter, there wasn't even a page that paragraph the name of the author of the story.

But soon I felt swaying and I closed the book in annoyance only to find that the floor beneath me returned to its wooden material but my dress also changed. No longer did I wear my usual attire, I couldn't even feel my corset and instead wore a bodice. The reasoning for the whole room swaying was because I was in a ship as evident by the smell of seawater and rocky motion that accompanied it. I was amongst many others that looked **** and dirty, just why we were here was actually beyond me as everyone was clothed, everyone seemed as if they were here voluntarily as they brought a small but possibly sentimentally important item onboard.

There was a breeze that entered from above a hatch and as I looked up, it was apparent that it was the cold of night, freezingly cold actually as I shivered in my seat while being so closed to one another. Perhaps it was the relative lack of clothing I wore that were akin to rags than anything but it seemed like I was to suffer through this until morning at least.

To my dismay, there was another problem that was about the ship I was on; there weren't enough beds for everyone down in the hold or stores or wherever we were. I decided to sleep wherever I already was as I saw no possible way of getting on a bed. Hunching forward, my eyelids grew increasingly heavy and there was no reason as to why I shouldn't fall asleep.

What happened to the ship after?
