Something Off About Jolyne's Face

Her face—there had been something off about her face. Gwen hadn't noticed it before during their chase, mostly because Gwen had been running away, but now that she was looking down at Joyne, she could see clearly that something was wrong. Jolyne's nose was incomplete; there was this hole in the center of it, the same way holes had been appearing in her body throughout their scuffle. It was part of her ability, that's all Gwen knew; from what she could guess, her "evil spirit" could take apart her body and create some sort of invisible mass with it. But what was Jolyne doing currently? Gwen hadn't noticed the stand-user do anything, and her spider-sense wasn't going off to warn her of any danger, so what could it be? As Gwen pandered this, her exposed eye caught something; movement going on in her mask. More specifically, movement in a torn corner of her mask. The torn edge was swaying gently forward, as if it were being pulled forward.

Gwen placed one hand against her mask and then gripped the corner with the other, holding the piece between her index finger and thumb before pulling down, tearing the small piece off of her already damaged mask. Jolyne clenched her teeth in annoyance at the sight, the tip of her nose quickly reforming soon after. Gwen blinked in confusion, her mind racing a mile a minute to figure out what this meant, and then it clicked, her opponent had tethered herself to her. This was how she was tracking her; at some point in the fight, Jolyne had attached herself to her. Guess she was determined to win this fight; despite the superheroine being the one trying to capture Jolyne, the ex-convict was intent on not letting her opponent escape., It was a necessity in stand fights not to let your opponent recuperate; it could mean life or **** if they figured out away around your abilities.

"So, that's how you've been finding me!" Gwen accused, standing up to meet Joyne's eyes head-on. It was an odd sight, two women standing straight on a vertical surface, one holding herself up right by an invisible line, the other just sticking to the wall.

The annoyed look on Jolyne's face faded. "Well, I guess it was about time you figured that out?" she teased with a smirk. "But I've still got some tricks for you!" Jolyne quickly retracted the threads from her right hand, pulling them out of the wall. The Joestar then aimed her hand downward, aiming the same threads toward her falling boot. The threads expanded, unraveling her fingers at a rapid pace to meet the freefalling footwear and wrapping it up in its coils. Jolyne then pulled upward, ceasing the boots descent, stopping it moments before it crashed into the ground and sending it flying upward. The threads released their hold from the boot as it shot forward, and the heel prepared to ram Gwen head-on.

Gwen was more than prepared for this attack, though; her spider-sense had already gone off to warn her of the oncoming attack. Not only that, but the Spider-Woman could see it coming a mile away with her own eyes. The heroine dashed forward, intent on getting up close and personal with the escapee. The boot was of little concern to her; Gwen simply raised her arm up to swat the boot. And upon making contact with the boot, Gwen was met with excruciating pain as the boot ripped open and dust poured out of it. Gwen had hit something unexpectedly hard and shattered it with her superhuman strength. The fabric covering Gwen's left hand had been obliterated, leaving it exposed. Spider-Gwen's spider-sense went off, causing the heroine to move her body to the side, narrowly avoiding debris that flew out of the dust cloud. There had been chunks of concrete in her boot. Why the hell were there chunks of concrete in her boot?!

Walking with a shoe full of stones would be painful as all hell, and with her injured legs, it would've made her walking even more awkward. Unless she had only recently put the concrete in her boot, which would make sense given that since the battle had been an aerial conflict for a bit, Jolyne's feet hadn't been against a surface for quite some time. Additionally, having something hard stuffed in her boot meant that her foot wasn't fully inside it, which is how she was able to slip out of it so easily. It was Gwen's turn to clench her teeth; just how far had her foe planned out her next move?

Spider-Gwen let out a load groan, before continuing downward. She wasn't going to let her opponent get in her head like that, any hesitation or doubts would be washed away as Gwen fortified her courage and prepared her next move. But, once more her spider-sense went off as closed the gap between her and Jolyne, the stand-user still smiling. The Spider-Woman prepared herself for the oncoming danger from in front of her ...Behind her? Gwen craned her head up and was meet with shadow looming over her, the shadows size increasing as an object rapidly feel toward her.

A gargoyle. The building they were fighting on had been one of those old ones that had those decorative gargoyles on it. The chunks of debris must've flown upward and crashed into the gargoyle, breaking it off of the building. Gwen's eye widened, not because of the oncoming danger but upon realizing that she was never the intended target; it had been the gargoyle above her the entire time. It was for that reason that Jolyne knocked her into this building. Not only did Jolyne find a way to trick her spider-sense earlier, but Gwen was now caught in a pincer attack, with the gargoyle falling from above her and Jolyne's "evil spirit" attacking from below.

Her enemy was crafty, but so was Gwen. The heroine wasted no time and leaped backward, jumping toward the gargoyle and landed on it, adhering to the surfacing the concrete decoration in a crouched position. Gwen the fired out a web from her remaining web-shooter and swung her and gargoyle to the side. Jolyne's face tensed as she watched Gwen not only avoid the pincer attack she had prepared but also swing herself out of her range, at least for a second before, like a pendulum, Gwen swung back toward Jolyne. The heroine let go the gargoyle with her hands while still remaining adhered to it with her feet.

As Gwen got closer to Jolyne, the superhero swung her legs out, swinging the gargoyle at Jolyne. Acting quickly, the Joestar brought out her stand. "ORA!" 「STONE FREE」's fist crashed into the gargoyle, pulverizing it. The space between Jolyne and Gwen was filled with dust, blocking their view of one another. Though only one of them wasn't entirely blinded, that being the one with a sixth sense.
