742th Spring After The Flood

"Silence!" The voice of the old porter was still strong. "Silence!" this one was accented with a hit of his staff against the floor. "Silence! Honourable Lady Elena is present!"

With that introduction small person in the intricate purple, black & gold robes took the podium, just as the last murmurs from the guests extinguished. The whole auditorium was silent.

"Thank you for coming to my seminar. Ladies. Gentleman. Hominidae." Her voice was quiet and soft, but thanks to magical amplification it penetrated every row of the auditorium.
"We'll be talking today and during the following sessions about Skills & Abilities. As a reference for this lecture I recommend:

• Siegfent's Racial Skill Compendium, 3rd edition or later - despite my personal disagreements with the Author I must add.
• Quick Reference of Universal Skills - By one of our own students - Igor Chromy - If you can get your hands on it - if not our library has 3 copies, which you'll get permission to copy from.
• Sills, Abilities, and Talents - Author Unknown - I don't think I need to introduce anyone to that brick. I recommend specifically our university's 10th edition.
