Dinner took place with limited attendance today.

“Ok. Lame. But why only 24 hours, Handsome? You could get way more out of it if you start right away.”
Sylphid made a good point. I personally wanted to train longer as well, but Femto denied me. She rambled something about sunken cost fallacy, opportunity cost and crypto bros. I didn’t understand any of it but the bottom line was that I would only get these 24 hours.
“I’m not keen on using that scabby devils help”, Fisti grumbled. “But Mari should come out massively stronger thanks to it. When are ya planning on starting it?”
“At midnight. The finals are at one in the afternoon, so I want to make sure to have one good nights sleep back here before it.”
“Devil”, Cassandra said, tearing into some meat “When all is said and done. How are our chances?”
“Tsk, Tsk, Cass”, Femto wiggled her finger. “I could tell you, but don’t you know the saying? Ignorance is bliss.”
“Figures”, Cassandra only replied and started drinking again. None of the other girls said a word.
Yeah, Femto gave me her estimate and it wasn’t good. It’s part of the reason why she will only assist me for one hour. Devil can bypass the magic barrier but that is because they bypass all human magic and that includes the resurrection spell. Femto could technically die down there. One hour is the maximum amount of time she can allow to have that possibility still be zero.
But that’s just her estimate. Femto herself admitted that I had a tremendous amount of potential. All I need to do is use that year to surpass her expectations.
The silence lingered until Sylphid smiled. “So, what you are saying is that right now and until midnight you are free, right Handsome?”

I considered my words very carefully here.
