Samantha talks to Liara

Samantha sat at the bar at the Port Observation Deck crying as she thought about the events that unfolded. “Samantha,” Liara said. “I need an update on the situation. Did you do your part?”

“No,” Samantha said. “I didn’t. I couldn’t.”

“What? Why not?” Liara asked.

“Because this is wrong,” Samantha said. “Having someone sign a contract after being drugged… it would be like forcing EDI to do something knowing that it’s wrong.”

“I see…” Liara said. “We’ll have to pivot to plan B. Shepard’s life is at stake.”

“Why don’t we just tell her whatever is happening?” Samantha asked.

“That’s out of the question,” Liara said. “Don’t tell Shepard anything. Do you hear me, Samantha? You cannot tell Shepard anything.”

Samantha bit her lip. “Y-yes, Liara.”

“Samantha, did you tell Shepard about this?” Liara asked.

Samantha gulped and she shook her head. “No… I didn’t tell her anything.”

“If you’re lying, I’ll find out,” Liara said.

Samantha hit the end call button and placed her head in her hands.

“Samantha,” a voice said from behind.

Samantha turned to see who was at the door.
