Chapter 14 by hambo hambo

Who is it?

Sally the Stewardess

A scrawny, bookish woman wearing glasses and dressed in a simple but elegant robe comes out. She keeps her hair done up in a bun, looking like a prudish medieval librarian. It was Sally, Hilda's stewardess. She ran the keep when her master was away.

"By the gods! What's happened to you, milady?" Sally shouts and blushes when she gets a look at Hilda.

"What? Oh, right. I was traveling along when these poor women asked for help. You see, they had all suffered a great deal of hardship..." Hilda goes in to **** detail about how she had lost everything, but the way she told it made it all sound so noble. "...So that's why we need to get everything ready for the new owner."

Sally looked at her mistress as a range of emotions washed over her. This keep had been her home for her entire life. "This is absurd! Why not just give everything away?" The stewardess asks in frustration.

"Really? You think so?" Hilda asks. "That's a great idea! And it will help so many people!"

"What?! No!" Sally tries to stop her deranged mistress, but is halted by the witch.

"Let her do what needs to be done, and your reward will be great," says the hag. Sally struggles with the old woman, trying to get free. A strange glow emanates from the witch's hands, and the fight drains from Sally. "Listen to your mistress. She is always right..."

Sally's eyelids half-close and her struggling ceases. "...listen... to... mistress..." mumbles Sally.

Sally shakes her head and the life springs back into her. "Mistress! Wait up! There's so much we need to do!" Says the newly enthusiastic stewardess as she follows after Hilda.
