Chapter 5 by Control Freak Control Freak

Do you stick around and wait for Ariel, or does another Princess need your attention?

Rapunzel is Harassing Someone Else's Jasmine

You had about five minutes or so of downtime before a man's voice came on over your radio. "Can we get the Princess Wrangler over to the Jungle Cruise? Rapunzel's having an argument with a guest's Love Doll, and it's starting to get heated."

You responded, "On my way," then started to make your way across the park at a brisk jog. You had no clue what Rapunzel was even doing in Adventureland in the first place, but you at least had an idea what this argument was going to be about even before you got there. And when you arrived on the scene, your suspicions were confirmed.

Right outside the entrance to the Jungle Cruise line, behind the security guard urging them to stand back, a small group of people had gathered to watch Rapunzel as she tugged on the arm of a very unhappy Jasmine. The problem was, it wasn't your... er, "the park's" Jasmine she was trying to drag off. You knew this to be the case because the Princesses were only allowed to wear what you told them to, and this Jasmine was wearing a light blue cardigan and jeans instead of the usual costume. The properly dressed Rapunzel however didn't seem to recognize this, even as the angry Jasmine began swatting at her arm.

"Let go of me!" Jasmine shouted, "You've got the wrong Jasmine!"

"Really Jasmine? You're still sticking with this whole 'identical twin' ploy?" Rapunzel said, keeping her grip firm, "I'm not that naive. Now come on, stop fooling around! We've got to get to the parade!"

"I'm not going to any damn parade!" Jasmine yelled, reaching over with her free hand to tug on Rapunzel's long golden braid, "Now let go!"

"Ow, OW!" Rapunzel squealed, to the shock and amusement of the spectating guests, "Stop it, I'm only trying to help! If we're late, we're going to get in trouble with-"

"Rapunzel!" you bellowed, stepping up to the squabbling pair, "Let her go, right now!"

Upon hearing your voice, Rapunzel was quick to obey, dropping Jasmine's wrist as she said, "Drat, I knew this would happen. Look, I know I'm late, but it's not my fault this time! We were getting ready to start and Jasmine hadn't shown up yet, so I went looking for her and-"

You held up a hand to silence her, then said, "I'll deal with Jasmine and make sure she's appropriately dressed. You get back to Main Street and focus on getting yourself ready. We'll talk about this later."

Rapunzel pouted, realizing from your tone that she was in trouble. She bowed to you and said, "Fine. But she better stop swearing before the parade starts."

"Oh like 'damn' is even that bad..." Jasmine said, reluctantly letting go of Rapunzel's braid.

"A Princess still shouldn't be saying it in front of the guests," Rapunzel scolded with a wag of her finger, before hurrying on past you towards Main Street. Seeing that the drama was over the small group of guests that had gathered to watch began walking off as well. You sighed, knowing that if any of them filmed this, you were going to get an angry call from your boss about this later. One problem at a time...

You turned to face the guest's Jasmine, who was now looking a little frightened, knowing that she wouldn't be able to hurt you in the same way she could another Love Doll. When your eyes met, she stated, "Look, this is all a big misunderstanding. I'm not the Jasmine. If you just wait here for a little bit-"

"I know you aren't her," you said, "I just said that because it was the fastest way to get Rapunzel to leave. She didn't break anything of yours, did she?"

Jasmine looked herself over for a moment, then shook her head, "No, I don't think so. What was wrong with her?"

"It's an error in the logic of their orders that comes up sometimes," you explained, "All of our Princesses are programmed to keep each other accountable while never acknowledging that they are robots in front of guests. Most of the time there aren't any issues, but sometimes when they see an unaccompanied Doll like yourself that looks identical to one of the other Princesses, they get confused and mistake them for the actual Princess trying to sneak off. Then they start trying to get them back on schedule, and once that happens its hard for anyone but me or the actual Princess to get them to stop. It's the reason we banned Dolls from dressing like the Disney characters at the park and encourage them to stay close to their owners at all times. Where's yours, anyway?"

"My husband had to go to the restroom," she said, flashing you her wedding ring just to make the relationship clear, "He told me to go ahead and meet him here."

"Would you be okay with me waiting here with you until he shows up?" you asked, "If they see you're with me, the other Princesses will mind their own business."

"Yes please," she said, sitting down next to you on a nearby bench.

It didn't take long for her husband, the kind of dumpy looking guy you'd expect to end up marrying a Love Doll, to show up. When she saw him, the Jasmine Doll immediately got up and embraced him, telling him what happened while finding comfort in his arms. He chewed you out for a bit, you apologized for the issue and let them cut to the front of the line for the Jungle Cruise as compensation, and after suggesting he try to leave Jasmine with a staff member the next time he had to use the bathroom instead of sending her ahead on her own, you left the couple to the rest of their day.

Of course, this didn't mean your job was done. You still had one other issue that needed to be fixed. You turned on your radio and asked, "Does anyone know where Jasmine is right now? Apparently she hasn't shown up for the parade yet."

It isn't very long before you get a response: "We have her down at the security office. Some kid was wandering around by themselves and Jasmine brought them here. She's keeping them company until we find the parents."

"Alright, that's good," you said with a sigh of relief, "She can stay there as long as you need her to. I'll let the parade know to start without her."

If you're lucky, the positive press from that will negate what just happened with Rapunzel, but you didn't have high hopes about that. Speaking of which, you still needed to have that 'talk' with her. So once you got to the parade, you not only told them to not wait for Jasmine, but to send Rapunzel to your office once her part was done.

A little under an hour later, you were sitting at the desk in your office waiting for Rapunzel to show up. Situated in a small building at the corner of Fantasyland, the outward facade was decorated to be the 'Private Princess Clubhouse', which in a sense was true since behind a locked door on the first floor was where all the storage pods for the Princesses were located, along with spare and alternate costumes for all of them. Your office was on the floor above that room, and consisted of little more than a desk, a computer, some cabinets, and a small air conditioner to fight the Anaheim heat.

You had just finished filing the incident report to your superiors when there was a knock on the door. You sent the email, then said, "Come in."

As ordered, Rapunzel entered the room, being extra careful not to close the door on her trailing braid as she did. She stands at attention in front of your desk, waiting nervously for you to speak.

"Do you know why I called you here?" you asked.

Her big green eyes looked down in shame as she said, "I'm sorry I ran off from the parade, but I was trying to find Jasmine! She-"

"That's not the issue," you snapped, "You not only found the wrong Jasmine, but when she resisted you tried to drag her away by ****, in front of the public! How do you think it looks for one of our Princesses to behave that way towards guests?"

"N-Not well," she admitted, before saying, "But in my defense, that lady looked a lot like Jasmine! Like, a scary identical twin sister of her! How was I supposed to know it wasn't her?"

"Was she dressed like Jasmine?" you asked.

"N-No, but-"

"Did she tell you she wasn't Jasmine?"

"W-Well, not our Jasmine, b-but..."

"But you thought she was in disguise, and lying to you," you finished for her. When she nodded at that, you asked, "If that was the case, why would she say her name was Jasmine, instead of trying to give you a fake name?"

She thought about it for a moment, then admitted, "I don't know."

"Have any of the other Princesses tried to disguise themselves like that before?"

"N-No..." she admitted shamefully.

"And even if you were right, do you think the right course of action would have been to try to physically **** her away from where she was and fight with her in front of the guests?"

"Of course not!" she says, "The last thing any of us want is to disturb the guests."

"Then why did you think it was okay to act like that towards anyone, Princess or guest?" you asked with a glare.

"I... I don't know," she said, "I'm sorry, really! It was a mistake."

You sighed, thinking over what to say next. Eventually you settled on, "Next time you see what you think is one of your fellow Princesses acting suspiciously, don't confront her directly. Tell a security guard, or come find me. And never get that physical with anyone again. Is that clear?"

"Y-Yes sir..." Rapunzel said with a whimper.

"Good," you said, "But just to make sure you understand, I think a punishment is in order."

Her eyes widened, and she gulped nervously while you pondered over what to do with her. In truth if a Princess was misbehaving, all you really had to do was reprogram her so that the behavior would hopefully not repeat itself. But you found it more entertaining to punish a Princess yourself first, since it gave you an excuse to have some fun with them in the privacy of your office. After all, with the amount of control you had over the Princesses' minds, you could have them accept pretty much anything you wanted as an acceptable punishment for their misbehavior. You even had quite a few toys hidden within your cabinets for just that purpose.

Your mind buzzed with the myriad of things you could do with Rapunzel, while she shuffled her feet nervously waiting for your verdict.

How do you decide to 'punish' Rapunzel?
