Dinner with a wolf

That evening, after you’ve bathed and changed, you wait for Lylah outside her house. You don’t have fancy clothes with you, but the wolf girl assured you it wouldn’t be necessary. As her front door opens, you look up and stare, as the beautiful woman emerges.

She has changed for the evening, wearing a tight, midriff baring top in a vibrant red, offsetting her long black hair which she has tied up in a ponytail. She’s wearing a tight black skirt, which does little to conceal her bulge, though it draws your eyes more to her long, shapely legs, as the skirt only covers to mid thigh. A pair of black shoes completes the look, and you see a hint of amusement in her sparkling orange eyes as she walks towards you.

Her tail wags slightly as she smiles at you. “See something you like, Greg?”

You chuckle. “A lot of things. You were pretty before, Lylah, but you’re stunning tonight!”

Despite the confidence she’s trying to project, she blushes at your compliment. She reaches out and you take her hand, and you begin walking towards the restaurant. It’s not far, and as she mentioned, it’s not busy. You’re seated quickly, and sitting across from her, you can’t help but notice she’s checking you out as much as you are her.

You smile. “So, we’re both eying each other up quite a bit. I don’t think anyone’s looked at me like that other than the sisters.”

Lylah giggles. “Sorry, am I being that obvious? It’s been a long time since I’ve had a date, honestly.”

You look at her in surprise. “And why is that? You’re beautiful, and you seem like a lovely person.”

She smiles, blushing again. “Thank you, Greg. Honestly, it’s a few different things. There’s no one in town I would date, and most of the people who pass through are travelers like you, headed either to the dwarves, or to Queen Sella’s capital city. Most of them are too young for my tastes. The few I’ve shown interest in…well, they weren’t interested in me. Either I’m too old, or…”

She gestures down towards her lap, and you nod in understanding. She continues, “Regardless, I’m turning thirty soon, so once Naia and Aisha left to find mates, I had resigned myself to being single.”

You reach across the table and take her hand. “I understand. I hit thirty not long ago myself, and I’ve never been very lucky in love. Well, until very recently. It was always a confidence thing for me. I’ll never be a model, and I’ll always have a little extra weight…”

Lylah interrupts you, smiling. “Don’t put yourself down, Greg. You happen to be just my type! A big, strong teddy bear to cuddle with.”

You chuckle. “Well, I don’t hate that comparison.”

Lylah laughs, her voice musical. “I spent some time among the dwarves when I was younger, and it left me with a taste for bigger men. Although dwarven men are too short and hairy for me!”

You laugh along with her, and you rub the stubble developing on your chin. “Now I feel like I should have shaved!”

The wolf girl smiles, shaking her head. “No, it’s perfect, it leaves you looking like the rugged man you are.”

She leans forward and whispers to you. “Besides, I shaved plenty for the both of us…”

You blink, confused for just a moment, then burst into laughter. “Lylah! So naughty!”

She grins. “I may have picked up some bad habits from the sisters.”

The two of you laugh as your food is delivered. Steak, potatoes, and mixed vegetables, all perfectly cooked. Both of you dig in as your conversation continues.

“You know, Lylah, I had this image of you as a sad, shy loner, somehow.”

She nods. “Honestly, I was headed down that road, until you showed up. I don’t think you understand how important it is for monster girls and monster boys to find a mate.”

You look at her between bites. “Monster boys?”

She smiles. “They’re incredibly rare, but they do exist. Most monster girls give birth to other monster girls, and male births tend to look human. Occasionally, however, monster boys are born. They’re more common among certain races, like cat girls and lizard folk.”

You nod. “I see. Go on, what is it about having mates that’s so important?”

She shrugs. “It’s hard to describe, it’s kind of like an urge that won’t go away until we bond with someone. It’s why most girls end up in harems, honestly.”

You nod. “I see. And how do you know you’ve chosen the right mate?”

Lylah smiles. “Before today, I couldn’t have told you that. But now…it’s a sensation of completeness. Like something missing was found. It’s probably why there’s very few abusive relationships here. That and the fact that most monster girls are pretty formidable in some way.”

You smile. “Are you saying you feel better around me?”

She chuckles. “I’m saying that if you keep playing your cards right, you’ll be the lucky winner of this wolf girl’s heart”

She leans forward again and whispers in a sultry voice. “Now eat up, you’re going to need that energy. I haven’t been with a man in years…”

Somehow, that’s the most suggestive thing you’ve heard tonight.
