Maya clung to his arm like a shipwrecked sailor to a spar of wood. She couldn’t believe her luck...no, fate. Handsome, wealthy, and young, and he picked HER! As a first choice, no less!

Being the first monster girl picked by her sponsor was a point of pride for anyone in her position, and it made Maya’s long wait all worth it. He picked her even above the woman who lived with him! Maya bit her lip, trying to control herself. It would be embarrassing to leave a puddle in his car after the ride home. The girls had told her how good it was with a man, but she was still nervous. Maya sighed, telling herself to stop worrying as Josh stood, having finished the paperwork. He turned to face her, and at his smile all her worries faded to nothing. She took his hand and waved to Rachel as they walked out to the fancy sedan he drove.
