You sure are! There's no other choice. You carefully feel the door, accidentally brushing against the metal knob. You freeze and listen. What a rookie mistake! But, at least, it seems it went unnoticed. You lean closer towards the door, listening to the voices. It sounds there are only two of them, but you don't recognize both of them. There's one with a bubbly, pitched voice, while the other has a more confident, deeper voice. It's that one you think you kind of recognize. You couldn't recall her name, but she's been here longer than Delilah. Just like you, she’s somewhat trapped here. She didn't seem too fond of the area in your last interaction with her either. She was a beautiful pale mink with jet black hair which was long and cared for. She was paired with a modest bust and a snarky smirk. Without a doubt, she was one of the hottest women you've ever laid eyes on. Perhaps that's why you couldn't remember any of the other maids, she was just too captivating to care for anyone else.

Eventually, they change subjects. "So, have you seen that contractor that's living in the tavern?" The other voice says, in an fan-girlish tone.

"I have!" The mink exclaims. "He's super laid back actually - better than the last dozen that stayed here. Not a trigger happy hick like some of the actual locals."

She continues. "I've seen him talking a lot with the barmaid. I bet she's sleeping with him. She's been flashing her best fuck me eyes to him since they first spoke to each other."

There's a moment of silence as her friend takes in what she's been told. "I don't think a guy like that would swoop down to such a pathetic level. Delilah doesn't deserve someone that good looking, doesn't she know better?"

The mink laughs. "Oo~ are you jealous? Did I strike a nerve? What if he's fucking her right now?"

There's a sharp gasp that soon follows after her adult remark. "M-Miranda! That's- that's inappropriate! But...No, I don't think he is. Delilah is just so...average, isn't she? How about me?? I bet he'd like to fuck me!"

Miranda, the mink, laughs. "Oh, Maple...He's probably left a string of broken hearts behind him. Are you really that ****?"

Maple lets out an outburst. "No! I'm just- just! Shut up! I just think he's good looking that's all!"

"Oh, my God..." Miranda trails off. "Is he the reason why you take such long showers?"

"Shut up!" Maple shouts. "I'm going to brush my teeth. You work early, so you should get to sleep."

With your head pressed against the door, you almost don't have enough time to react when the doorknob starts to twist. Even as the door shakes slightly, you hardly react soon enough as it gets pushed open. You step backwards into the shadows, just narrowly escaping Maple's line of sight.

As you watch Maple walking away, you weigh your options. It seems Maple has a crush on you, so talking to her might surprise her, but you could also see Miranda again, and see if she'd be interested in some "fun"?
