The Holy Holes

"When some of the shyer nuns came to me expressing an interest in drilling holes in the walls of our church for the sake of your new mandate, I was skeptical, to put it mildly," Ursula grumbled, fixing both of the two nuns with a glare that caused them to lose their chipper faces and shrink into their habits. "I told them to find a suitable place to drill holes in, one that would not be so costly to renovate after this new fad of yours dies down. They chose this place and I gave them my blessing."

"I... see..." Clara murmured, not understanding at all, truth be told. At about waist level, perhaps just a bit lower, circular holes had been drilled into the wall of the old church using some sort of mechanical tool. Through the holes, she could see some sort of lantern light burning... Was someone already inside? She lowered her voice slightly and continued. "What is the purpose of these?"

The other three looked at each other with something like pity. Each of the two younger nuns opened their mouths, to begin explaining together: "they're glory ho-" the nuns began, before Ursula resumed command of the situation.

"These are Holy Holes, intended to honor the glory of our lord, Geod."

"... Hm?" Clara asked, narrowing her eyes again and tilting her head while placing one fist over her mouth to hide her confused frown. She still didn't understand.

Ursula clenched her teeth, beginning to grow impatient. "Look... It's about time for visitors to show up and use these holes. You'll understand momentarily." She realized that Clara was never going to understand unless she had the purpose of these holes spelled out very clearly... But what was the best method? Should the younger priestesses start since it was their idea? Should she give a demonstration? Or would it be best if Clara herself went first, before she had time to back out?
