"Whatever, fuck this!" you say, still hating how your voice sounds. You march past the pair and head to the door. Chuck catches up to you, putting a hand on your shoulder.

"Hey, Chris... this isn't right. I'm with you on that. Listen, I'll make sure that you can get disability. No fight on our end, and we'll try to figure something out. Wanna meet at the bar later? I can make some calls."

You take a few breaths, then nod, all the while trying to ignore how close to tears you are. "That's..." you pause, trying to keep your voice from shaking. "That'd be great. Thanks Chuck."

You continue out of the warehouse, ignoring the stares of your coworkers, and head back to your car. Now that you have the day free, you have to decide what to do until your meet up with Chuck.
