Chapter 7 by Sorenus Sorenus

Where do you go now?

A Small Trading Town

With world made, and body ready, you try to decide exactly what it is you want to do. After some deliberation, you decide that it would be alright to test your current work.

It's obvious that by the time you're done, you'll be in full control of the entire world-all the races, all the individuals, the whole thing. But just granting yourself full control would be boring. You have the perfect body, with a special mark, and special powers that come with it. You have the knowledge that comes from creating the world, and being the closest thing to a god it has. You figure that you'll just slowly conquer the world-preferably as its savior, at least in the case of The Races. Having said that, any more than that will simply be the journey that you take along the way. Even if anything goes wrong, you can just fix it with your reality bending powers.

So conquering the world would include two or three things. First, you need to defeat and subjugate the demons. You don't have to kill them, but you do need to beat them and make them yours. Secondly, you need to rule the races. They must make you there monarch and ruler, with absolute authority. That second task could be broken down further, into two sub-tasks. The first is to control the race that your body is of, the second is to control all the others.

Having broken down the tasks, it's clear that conquering the demons and monsters simply requires power. You and those who're loyal to you must be able to defeat them. The second task-controlling the race that you currently are, which are the humans, will require political power and wealth. Having said that, you can fallback on your might if that doesn't work. After all, this is a world where you can take anything you want for yourself if you're strong enough. The third task-controlling the other races, is the same.

Having not made yourself of noble blood, or anything similar, political power will be something you know you'll gain through deeds performed and people met later in your journey. So for now, focusing on wealth and power will be what you need to do. Of course, power isn't just your own might. It also includes the might of your closest allies-those who you adventure or journey with, more commonly known as a "Party" in this world.

Having broken it down, you're finally ready to select where it'd be best to start your journey. It should be a place where you know you can find at least one powerful fighter, worthy of joining your party. They don't have to be strong now, as with even elites being below Mark Level 100, nobody in this world truly qualifies as strong. Instead, they have to have potential for strength. It should also be a place where there's a decent number of opportunities to at least start gaining wealth. Finally, the dangers and monsters near the area need to be ones that you or the individual with potential that you recruit can beat with low to medium risk in order to grow stronger at a good rate. Of course, there are other things that a location could have to make it good, like nearby ruins or items that would help you, but the first three requirements are at the core of what you're looking for.

After a few minutes, you find what you're looking for. It's a small town called Mardis, in one of the 5 great remaining human kingdoms. You figure that conquering the humans would be a good start before you really pursue other races, so for your purposes, it'd most important to currently grasp the human territories. Breaking it down is quite simple-there are 12 remaining human kingdoms, in comparison to the 195 countries that existed in the world before you changed it. The five biggest are much more important and powerful than the rest, and are referred to as The Five Great Human Kingdoms. The town you're going to, Mardis in particular is located in The Kingdom of Dawn Riss, or Dawn Riss, for short.

Dawn Riss can further be broken down into 12 territories, ruled by the 12 dukes of the kingdom. Each territory can then be further broken down into smaller regions or important cities and towns, ruled by lesser nobles, such as earls, counts, and barons. Mardis is located in the small region of Harse, rated on the united regional danger scale as a B-Class region. The town is rules by a Baron, and the region, by an Earl. Of course, all of this is background information, used to help you understand the important political figures of where you are, but not much more.

What's more important are the reasons that you came here-namely, that it fits all 3 of your requirements.

Despite the region overall being classified as B-Class, there are a couple of specific locations in it that have more dangerous monsters. One of them, Dayfall Mountain, is nearest to Mardis. The location possesses a number of monsters of which it's recommended that an individual, or adventurer, as is the name that those who fight against the monsters for profit are known by, is at least Level 80 before they even consider fighting. Between that, and the lesser monster-filled locations near Mardis, you and any party members you find should find it to be a perfect place for your journey's start.

Additionally, the Dawn Riss Adventurer's Guild has a strong presence there. The Kingdom's adventurer's guild is a location where adventurers can find work. In particular, the largest location of the guild in the region is in Mardis, so plenty of work for adventurers can be found there. Additionally, there's a number of valuable resources nearby if one knows where to look-a privilege that you, as the world's creator, has. Plenty of these valuable materials could be sold in town as well-the town, having such a sizable branch of the Adventurer's Guild, had a good number of traders looking to sell to adventurers as well. As such, the town had a good economy, and there were several wealthy merchants who had made their homes in Mardis.

As far as locating party members, Mardis is well covered on that front too. One aspect of this was the guild presence-one should be able to find plenty of, if not truly worthy party members, at least decent place holders, or good candidates for sub-parties, minion groups. But in particular, you had noted at least one person of particular interest in the area when looking through.

Interestingly enough, when you changed the world, the people changed with it in interesting ways. Some people that existed in the modern world died, and some that had never existed before came into being as the world's past changed. But there were some people whose...souls, for lack of a better word, had existed in the world before you changed it. For example, while the soul that represented your father no longer existed, your mother's soul was still alive and well in this world. In fact, the soul of your grandfather on your father's side, who died back when you were 5, long before you held the reality stone, was still alive and thriving in this world.

The point being this-in Mardis, there existed a soul of somebody you once knew, even if they would no longer knew you, or perhaps would no longer even look remotely like the person that you had known. And what's more, that person had a Kellis Mark that was worth noting-in other words, significant potential.

Who is this person?
