Lydia Deetz

Lydia Deetz is the eighteen-year-old daughter of Charles Deetz from his first marriage. Delia Deetz is her stepmom -- or as Lydia likes to call her behind her back, her wicked stepmother.

Lydia has raven-black hair and pale white skin that rarely sees the sun, much less a tanning bed. She is interested in all sorts of occult material and likes to take pictures of unusual phenomena with her Polaroid camera. Some people have told her that she looks like an eighteen-year-old Winona Ryder but she never quite believes them.

She likes to dress in black. Black shoes, black stockings, black dresses, black hats, black veils, and of course, black underwear. She rarely wears jeans but if she did, they too would be black. And any bathing suit that she would own would definitely be black. What can I say? The girl's got a theme.

Lydia goes to an all-girl high school named Miss Shannon's School for Girls. She doesn't date much and most of the boys in town think she's a bit weird anyway. Her arch-rival at school is a blonde girl named Claire Brewster who has had it in for Lydia ever since her first day at Miss Shannon's School for Girls.

All her life Lydia has dreamed about something strange and unusual happening in her life. She is also a bit obsessed with ghosts. If she had a pet, she'd probably name it Casper so it's a good thing she doesn't have a pet. Yet.

She also has a recurring dream about losing her clothes at an inopportune moment, either at school or at home. But fortunately, dreams like that never come true, right?
