At school

It was near the end of gym class at Miss Shannon's School for Girls and as usual, Lydia Deetz was the last one to enter the shower room. Not that she minded all that much. She liked being by herself and she always hated having to shower when the other girls were around. Inevitably they would find something to tease her about. Sometimes it was her hairstyle. Sometimes it was her lack of tan lines. Some girls made fun of her pubic hair; then when she shaved it off one day, they made fun of her lack of pubic hair.

Some of the girls stared at her the same way most boys stared at Claire Brewster but for some reason, Lydia never minded this too much because those girls were rarely the same ones who teased her. What really worried her were the girls who stared at her naked body and then guiltily looked away when Lydia caught them in the act. The ones that would swear on a stack of Bibles that they were straight and that if Lydia thought that they were staring at her, then Lydia must be the one who was gay.

Still it felt so good to have a nice cold shower after exercising in the great outdoors. So good, in fact, that when Lydia finally left the shower room, it took a while for her to register that her towel was gone. And so were her clothes.
