A new signal

"What is it?" you ask, floating next to her.

"It's The Aurora, the shuttle has a signal," she explains.

You look at the screen, the map showing The Aurora coming in from deep space. It is now just a couple of days from reaching near the planet.

"Does it look like it's fine?" you ask.

Rachel looks down at the console, she looks confused, "shouldn't they have performed an orbital burn already? The computer shows them still on an escape velocity and still heading quickly towards the planet, they are going to crash into the planet."

"Yeah, they should have," you say confused, checking her view.

"Can you plot an intercept trajectory?" You ask Rachel.

"I believe I could be of assistance Mister Connor," 43 interjects.

You turn towards the AI, "I can pilot the ship and intercept," it explains.

"OK, do it," you tell it, getting Rachel to give the android the chair.

Considering The Aurora left last, anyone still alive on it could be the last humans in the universe. You need to do anything in your ability to save those who could be on it. The droid takes the seat, Yasmin, Haruka, and Eve, all enter the cockpit.

"Everyone will need to be seated," it states.

Everyone takes a seat, luckily the shuttle has just enough seats. Hooking in, you feel your back **** roughly back into place. The ship's engines roaring as your orbit elongates towards the closest approach.
