Chapter 48 by Fantasy Fantasy

How does the talk with the headmistress go?

As well as you could hope for.

The headmistress, Elena Hayes, who you recall is Emma’s mother, is a woman in her mid-50s. Brown, yet clearly dyed hair, the signs of small wrinkles and hazel eyes mark her most distinctive features. If you try REALLY hard, you can see a resemblance between this demon-lord and your angel of a girlfriend, but it’s all extremely superficial.

“Mr. Walker, I thought I warned you about breaking the rules in my academy.” Mrs. Hayes says, sitting behind her desk in her office. You could swear she’s happy about the situation, but she won’t let it show.

“You did, Mrs. Hayes. To this day I remember your words clearly.” You answer, having collected yourself with Ms. Owen’s help. You stand before the headmistress’ desk while the English teacher stands beside her.

“Then why did you break the rules, Mr. Walker?”

“I have done no such thing, Mrs. Hayes.”

“Then how would you explain that picture the entire school has seen by now. It is a clear violation to the school’s moral code and an outright crime by the code of law.” She says.

“Again, I have done nothing of the sort. I assure you it was all a setup to frame me as a sexual offender. I have never laid a finger on Ms. Ramirez.” You explain, trying to be as formal and academic as possible. Your chances of success are already low, better not to lower them more by acting too friendly with Lucifer herself.

“Please, Mr. Walker, the world does not revolve around you. Why would these girls, students of our prestigious academy, do something as awful as frame you of a crime?”

You resist the urge to clench your fist and throw a shoe at her. She’s taunting you on purpose!

“The reason escapes me, as well, Mrs. Hayes.” You tell her, omitting of course any comments that will further make you look like a victim. You don’t have her sympathy, quite the opposite, so you need to argue with cold facts. “Yet I was led to the restroom, **** inside and pushed to the ground. That’s when the picture was taken.”

“You mean you were **** and pushed to the ground by those delicate ladies?” She asks, with a slight hint of mockery in her tone.

Wow. You’re thankful for her old-school mentality now, because she just gave you a HUGE opening.

“Why, yes. I firmly believe this academy is full of strong women, both physically and mentally. I don’t see why these girls would have trouble overpowering me, who has only just started any kind of physical training.”

You can see Mrs. Hayes noticeably suppress a scowl, while Ms. Owens tries to suppress a smirk.

“Mrs. Hayes, if I may,” The English teacher interjects. “The nurse, Ms. Fujiwara, has confirmed that there are no signs of a physical struggle on Ms. Ramirez’s body. I believe that, at the very least, the stories of both parties have holes in them. Mr. Walker has no evidence or witnesses to support his claim, yet we have records of several students with claims of bullying pointing towards Ms. Hughes, Ms. Reed and Ms. Ramirez, which, I must remind you, you’ve yet to address.”

Yep. Cold, hard facts. This woman is truly an inspiration for you.

Mrs. Hayes suppresses a groan at the teacher’s comment, then sighs heavily. “Very well, we’ll discuss this more tomorrow and decide if legal action is necessary.” She looks at you, as if holding back a glare. “You may go home, Mr. Walker. Just remember your situation before you do anything else.”

You politely say goodbye to both women and return to your room. Who knows how long it will keep being yours.

How do things proceed from here?
