Chapter 39 by Fantasy Fantasy

Where do you go from here?

Tutoring at home.

You wait outside the school for Emily and Megan. After they’re finished with their soccer practice, they’re ready to go back to the café, but this time you have different plans.

“Actually, I can invite you to my place this time. It’s only a 10 minute walk from here.”

“Your place?” Emily asks you with a raised eyebrow.

“You live around here?” Megan asks, equally curious.

“Since there’re no male dorms, I was given a… room around here. It was being renovated until Friday last week.” You explain.

The soccer stars look at each other, before nodding and agreeing to go.

“We’d need a better place to study soon, anyway. It’s not like we can pay for coffee every time we have a session.” Emily says.

“I’m a little curious to know where you live, too.” Megan admits.

After the 10 minute walk, you finally arrive at your place, still a fishy looking shed in an isolated lot by the street. Even with the renovations, it still looks the same from the outside. Considering it took a bit less than two weeks to finish everything, you’re not surprised.

“THIS is where you live?” Megan asks with a bewildered expression.

“I don’t believe you. Do you realize what this looks like?” Emily questions you.

Okay, when you think about it this looks like you’re taking two girls to an abandoned storehouse. Huh.

“I swear it doesn’t look nearly as bad inside.” You assure them. The fact that they still follow you inside might say something about their trust.

When you’re all inside, both girls start to curiously look around. Emily hums in approval while Megan seems a bit more excited than her friend.

“Wow, this is really cool!” The brunette says, inspecting everything. “You live here alone?”

“Yeah. My parents are overseas, so they sent me here. This is the place the school gave me.”

“It’s not bad.” Emily nods, walking around your room. “It’s cleaner than I thought it would be.”

“So you do everything yourself? Cooking, laundry, cleaning?” Megan asks. You nod.

You begin the tutoring session immediately. You wonder if your Great Host Trait is working, and while it’s hard to notice, there’re a few things that tell you it is. For example, while Megan sits in your chair and uses your desk, Emily casually lays on the bed on her stomach with her notebooks, swinging her legs up and down.

You work with them, offer them drinks and snacks and they really seem very comfortable here. You drink from the sight of these two gorgeous girls in your room, studying and concentrating.

At one point, Megan, who is working on your laptop, asks you for help with a math problem. Remembering that the last time you checked she had an affection score of 31, you consider getting a little bolder. Just a little though.

You stand behind the sitting Megan and lean forward. You face is really close to hers and your arm touches her shoulder as you reach for the mouse. You can see her stiffen at the close proximity, but you don’t look at her. Instead, you focus on the computer screen.

“Ah, I see. This is what you did wrong. You have to solve what’s in parenthesis first, then powers, then…” As you explain these things to her, you can see her staring glances at you from the corner of your eye. When you’re done, you turn to her without changing the distance between you.

Just as you’re about to ask her if she got everything, you catch her staring at you with a look you can’t discern, but that’s definitely not negative. It’s not strong enough to call it longing, or weak enough to just be curiosity. You can’t help but stare back. Without noticing, both of your faces are getting closer as you’re somehow lost in the other’s eyes. When your noses brush together, it’s like a sudden wake up call. You both pull away and try your best to act like nothing happened.

“So, did you get everything?” You ask, unable to clear all the nervousness form your voice.

“Y-yes. I’ll try to do it again.” Megan nods quickly and loses herself in your laptop.

“Done! David, can you check if I have any spelling errors?” Emily asks, having just finished writing the 300 word essay you tasked her with.

As you read through it, you can’t help but steal glances at Megan even so often, and you catch her doing the same.

When they leave, Emily says goodbye and when she turns around, Megan does the same, only she leans in and gives you a kiss in the cheek. That, along with her flushed face rocks your whole world. You stand at your door, mindlessly waving goodbye like an idiot as you watch them leave. When they’re out of sight, you go back inside and check the AMA.

-Miller, Emily-
Affection Score: 36.

-Grant, Megan-
Affection Score: 48.
Love Score: 21

Hey! Megan has a crush on you! And a big one, at that! Not to mention both girls perception of you has completely shifted. They see you as something of a friend now, although they haven’t told you that outright.

Does something happen before you go to bed?
