The 8-ball

The 8-ball is a mysterious item rumored to be from an alternate dimension; it's everlasting, undying, passed down from generation to generation. But this 8-ball isn't just an antique to hold, or a tool to be used, hell, it isn't even meant to be in a game of pool.

No, this 8-ball is alive, or to be more exact, whatever's inside is alive. Multiple individuals have claimed to have spoken to the being in the ball, though no one has ever seen it; or if they have, lived to tell the tale. You see, whatever's in the ball, is devious in nature. It has its own motives, and while whatever it truly wants is still unknown, the fact of the matter is that it helps whoever's lucky enough to obtain the orb. Maybe it loves to flex its influence over the human world, or perhaps it merely gets off at seeing people lose control. A palpable answer will most definitely never reach the light of day, but does it really matter the origin? No one blessed with the power of the 8-ball dares to ask too many questions, lest they lose their chance to let their deepest fantasies come to fruition.

But what exactly is the 8-ball? What makes it so feared, yet sought after? Well, here's what we know.

Apparently, the being that resides in the 8-ball has powers beyond understanding; the ability to reshape reality itself. Yet, with all of its amazing capabilities, it can't free itself from its small circular prison. That is, unless, it finds a host. Once it finds someone it deems worthy; it's free from its prison for a short amount of time, during that time it uses its abilities to 'have fun' with the whoever freed it. Instead of simply giving whoever released it whatever they please, it decides to have fun during its period of freedom. It will insert commands or triggers, into whoever it's host desires; then immediately, it drops hints, clues, to what said triggers are. Then it's up to its host to discover the clues and use them till the rooster crows.

But if the host refuses to find, or use any of the triggers for seven days; the game will end, and the 8-ball will find another host to continue the game elsewhere.
