A most uncomfortable feeling

As the ring spun backwards, he felt the reverse of what happened earlier. It was as if the light was being sucked directly from his eyes, one of the most uncomfortable feelings he'd ever experienced. That didn't compare to what he felt however when a large crack of darkness enveloped him. The darkness was darker than dark, like the material on the ring, but it had an essence to it... almost as if it was sentient. As the fear grew inside of Richard he could feel something inside him fighting at the darkness. Suddenly a boom of green light shot out from the center of his being. Pushing back the darkness, it expanded, letting Richard see again.

Looking around he realized he was spooning his sister Jess again. It had worked, but at what cost? Getting the sense he had just something he shouldn't have done, Richard was going to try and be a little more careful not to spin the ring backwards unless he absolutely needed to.

A quick glance at his ring showed that it was out of energy, as it's green glow was barely non-existent.
