String Trap Room

You turn to the doorway to your left and proceed forward, bracing yourself for whatever trap or trick this first chamber may hold.

As you step forward, you see an empty room, tealish metal like all the others so far, and a seemingly clear pathway to the door to the other side.

Surely there's more to it than this? Or perhaps it's a mental trick... luring you into paralysis so that screen... thing... can catch up with you and put you into another hypnotic stupor? Either way, nothing gained by standing still. If you're going to make it out of this place in tact, you're going to have to go forward eventually, so it may as well be now.

A few ginger steps forward and nothing seems amiss yet. A few more well placed steps, tiptoeing forward in your flats. You make it about a quarter of the way into the room and there's yet to be any cause for alarm.

Hmm... maybe this one is still part of the hallway? Weird. What did the sign on the door call this chamber again? You puzzle over the thought as you take a few more, less careful steps forward.

*twaaaaaaang!*

Ah yes, 'The String Room.'

You pull away as you feel your exposed skin catch on some sort of thread, or wire, thin and nearly invisible to the naked eye. It tugs and takes some effort to pull away, causing you to stagger backwards.

*twang! twang!*

Two more strings. They're starting to form an almost invisible maze within the room itself, extending in all directions like a well-woven spider's web.

You try to push forward but the further you go, the more your skin catches!

*twang! twang! twang!*

Soon you are almost incapable of moving, so thoroughly entangled you've [become.

It is at this point, that a hole in the wall opens and another of those weird TV-guys pops out.

"Well ladies and gentlemen watching at home, it appears as though our stalwart heroine has fallen prey to the string trap! Only one room into the maze too... not the best contestant we've ever had! Well then, time to collect and program her, and it will be off to a life of strings for this one!"

The monitor starts to spin with a spiral pattern across its screen as it zooms closer to you in the center of the room! You've got to figure something out and fast, or it's curtains for you, and your freedom!
