You break first

Looking into the eyes of your enemy, you see the anger and pain of this war, but the latter is all you feel. She must have lost so many men under her command, but not as many as you did. She must have felt suffering whenever she was **** to retreat, but not as much as you did. She had her ship, you had your fleet, but only in one way are you equil in pain.

"What was their name?" you ask with a breaking voice.

"What?" She intern asks with confusion, no doubt unprepared for your response.

"What was the name of the one you love?" You ask with a tear rolling down your check; the prelude to many. "The one you fought the war for. The one you shared the heart with. The one you cried over, and when you were down with that, vowed to go to Hell and back for them so you could be them again. What was their name?"

Seeing your tear-soaked face, the captain removes her fists from around your neck. "Her name was McKale," she says an emotionless voice so as to restrain herself. "We promised each other that we would be married after the war was over, but she died in the battle I was captured; the one where you defeated me for the last time."

As she spat her last remark, she got off of you an sat at the base of your bed, where you soon joined her. You leaned your head against her shoulder, silently crying to yourself. Two sworn enemies, the Demon Captain and the Invicta's commander, were in each other's arms, one comforting the other.

Suddenly, a question strikes you: "What's your name, captain?" you ask, clearly away the tears.

"I'm Commodore Doe," she quietly says as she rest her head atop yours.

"A beutiful name, Commodore," is as you can say.
