Call upon the Burning Rose

If it truly is your time to die, then you want to do so in the presence of your goddess. You pray to the Burning Rose and close your eyes.
Surrounded by darkness, you see her figure. A naked beautiful red-haired woman, surrounded by fire. She walks up to you and reaches out at you with both her hand.

When Sabine closed her eyes, Gabrielle considered it a sign her friend had accepted the horrible reality and was ready to have her life ended.
The ebony woman raised her sword and prepared to behead her redheaded friend. She’ll make certain to let it be quick and painless.
Suddenly Sabine raised her hands and took hold of the shadowy spear piercing her body. As Sabine touched the spear, light burst forth from her hands and blinded Gabrielle.
When Gabrielle managed to look at Sabine again, the tip of the spear was replaced by white light. Although Sabine still had her eyes closed and is clearly lost in concentration, she slowly pulls the spear out of her chest. Wherever her hands grabbed the spear, the shadows faded and got replaced by light. Eventually Sabine pulled the last bit of the spear out of her body, and the weapon got fully converted into light.

When you open your eyes again, you expect to be seeing the afterlife. But no, you are still in the Abbey. You look at Gabrielle and see a strange look on her face.
“What’s wrong?” You ask her.
“Sabine …” Gabrielle says. “How did you do that?”
Confused, you ask “Do what?”
Then you notice a metal spear in your hands. It is made of silver and has the emblem of the Burning Rose engraved in the tip.
“You exorcised the darkness from the spear that was corrupting you.” Gabrielle explains. “There have been cases of paladins trying that, but nobody has ever succeeded. How did you do that?”
Now you are even more confused. All you did was pray to the Burning Rose, and now you have apparently preformed a miracle. Did she save you?

Then the both of you hear a beastly howl.
“That’s a hellhound.” Gabrielle says. “We need to leave.”
She helps you stand, and the two of you head further into the abbey.
