Run for dear life

When Gabrielle slashes at you with her blade, you manage to dodge away at the last second. Then you kick her in her stomach. Due to the armor she is wearing, it won’t hurt her much, but at least you manage to push her away from you. You then get to your feet and start running, the shadowy spear still lodged inside your chest.

“Sabine, I’m just trying to help you!” Gabrielle calls out, but you don’t want to hear it.
You had always considered her your friend. Turns out she’s just as bloodthirsty as all those daemons.

When you come to a crossing you turn right and keep running for dear life. Good think you’re not wearing plate armor like that psychotic sister of yours. This way you can easily outrun her.
You keep running and running until you can’t hear or see her any longer. When you finally stop you take a deep breath. Odd, you figured being pierced by a spear would at least make breathing more difficult. Yet, it seems there are no side-effects, it doesn’t even hurt.

You look around and check where to you’ve actually so blindly ran to. It appears you’ve run to the baths. Good, you can hide there until you’ve done something about that damn spear.

You enter the baths and look around. There’s nobody here. All the better, this way you don’t have to explain about that new black appendage you’ve received.
You start taking off your robes. It is difficult, since a spear doesn’t just pierce you, but also the fabric of your clothes. It frustrates you so much you decide to simply rip the fabric apart.
When you do, you find the spear is lodged into you in a very particular manner. It hasn’t pushed through and damaged any skin. There isn’t any blood. However the skin around it has changed color. It feels quite unreal to see one of your breasts is a completely different skin color that the other. You have seen this before, in the dining hall. This must be the corruption doing its work.

Suddenly you feel a sharp pain in the corrupted breast. You double over in pain and scream. Before you can think another jolt of pain hits you. You writhe over the tiled bathroom floor, screaming at the top of your lungs. It hurts so much. You have difficulty breathing. You have to get out of these clothes.
You do your best getting rid out of those robes. When your underclothes are the only thing you’re wearing, the pain seems to stop. You sit on your knees and examine your topless chest again.
“Dear goddess.” You whisper. The corruption has spread. It now covers half your other breast, nearly touches your navel and has covered the shoulder above the spear. If that’s not enough, your fingernails have turned into claws. Maybe you should have allowed Gabrielle to kill you.

Then you can see the spear start shrinking. The more it shrinks, the further the corruption spreads. Luckily it doesn’t hurt any more, it merely tingles.
As more and more of your body changes, you realize your life as a human is over. You close you eyes, and wait for it to end.
