What happens next?
Heather gets some advice from her father's girlfriend
“Oh, sorry girls,” Robert said, picking up his vibrating phone and standing up. “I have to take this.”
Leah chuckled at her boyfriend as she stared at his retreating back. “That man, can’t seem to leave work at home.” She said, turning to Heather.
However, Robert’s daughter looked like she was in an entirely different world as she stared at Zachary’s table with a serious look masking her beautiful features.
“Something wrong, Heather?” The woman asked, an expression of worry plastered over her face. When the brunette girl just looked at her and didn’t answered the question, the redhead followed her previous line of vision and a knowing smile formed on her lips. “Ah, boy trouble.”
Heather sighed. “Have you ever thought that your seduction skills could be failing when they shouldn’t be?” She inquired in a low voice.
Leah frowned again. “What happened?” She retorted, the worry for the younger girl increasing in her mind.
Heather sighed and relayed to her father’s girlfriend the same story she had told her dad, including her thoughts about Zack’s reaction to their little escapades at the theater and the lookout point. She then added the piece of advice Robert had already given her and the struggle she was having to accept it.
“Heather, sweetie,” Leah put her hand on top of the brunette’s. “I think your father is partially right, you do need to put yourself above him,” She then cocked her head to the side with a thoughtful look. “But then again, if you really want him, nothing is stopping you from going after him. I know I didn’t stop until I got your dad.”
Heather huffed and let her head fall onto her arms on the table. “Leah,” She groaned. “Not helping.”
“Love is complicated, maybe not getting together with that boy will play a positive part in your future,” The redheaded woman said. “Take me for example again, if I had stayed with my high school boyfriend, I’d be a completely different person today, one that I definitely didn’t like.”
“Too mean?” Heather asked with a small smile.
“Too wimpy,” Leah replied, briefly raising an eyebrow. “And submissive, yeah, I don’t really like who I was nine years ago.”
Heather sighed, a novelty such as having boy troubles for the first time in her life totally wasn’t what she had in mind when she invited her friends to spend Spring Break at her dad’s cabin. ”Zack, are you worthy or not?” She asked herself, giving a fleeting stare at the boy in question.
As for Leah, she turned her attention to the other young girls, even if Robert didn’t believe her, she fully intended to deliver one of them in a platter for him eventually. They had an open relationship, where they agreed that both of them could sleep with other people, as long as the other was present.
”Aww, shucks,” Leah scrunched up her face. ”None of them look like easy work.”
