The Woodsens' exes have a chat

Noticing that Brandon was alone beside the grill, Peter picked up his beer and made his way over to the younger boy. He seemed to be a bit distracted, staring in the general direction of Ashley’s table.

“Brandon,” Peter greeted. “How you’re doing, man?”

That startled the football player, who turned to look at him with wide eyes. “Oh, it’s you Peter,” He said, letting out a huff. “Sorry, I’m fine, I guess, what about you?”

“The same,” Peter replied, nodding to Kurt’s vacated chair. “Mind if I join you for a couple minutes?”

Brandon shook his head and gestured to the chair as Peter sat down on it. The older guy noticed his younger companion had turned his head back forward to stare at Ashley’s table, causing him to stifle a sigh. They hadn’t dated the Woodsen sisters during the same time span, but Peter recalled a few times the two of them had hung out together over the past two years. Brandon seemed a nice guy back then, but now he almost looked an obsessed man, Peter noted.

The green-eyed man could relate to how Brandon was feeling, since he never quite got over the end of his relationship with Hannah. It got better with time, but Peter could remember very well the way he felt on the days that followed the break up. ”Almost exactly like Brandon looks right now.”

“They’re really something, aren’t they?” Peter asked, taking a sip of his bottle.

“Huh?” Brandon looked back at him, confusion written on his face.

“The Woodsen girls,” Peter elaborated. “Looks like there’s no such thing as getting over them, huh?”

Brandon stared at him, his confused features turning into a frown before he looked down at his feet. “Yeah, I guess so,” He looked up at Ashley’s table once again and stood up. “I’m gonna head to the bathroom, be right back, ok?”

Peter nodded as the younger guy walked over to the cabin’s back door.

Brandon wanted to scream, maybe even punch something. He was sitting there beside the grill, minding his own business as he thought about a way to approach Victoria, that is, until Peter arrived.

”I don’t need him bringing up Ashley all the fucking time and making me feel guilty!” He mentally yelled.

The athlete was so distracted that he almost collided with someone exiting the cabin at same moment he was crossing the threshold. Startled, Brandon immediately looked up to apologize, then he saw it was none other than Shawn Lewis. Before he could say something, the older guy pulled him inside.

“Awesome, you’re here,” Shawn grinned maniacally at him. “That’ll save me the trouble of writing a note.”

Brandon raised an eyebrow, wrestling his arm away from Shawn’s grip. “What the hell are you talking about?”

“This isn’t the place nor the time for us to talk, my friend,” The older Lewis replied. “Meet me at my cabin’s driveway in two hours, I promise it’ll be something of your interest.”

“What?” Brandon frowned, unable to comprehend what Shawn wanted with him.

“My cabin’s driveway, in two hours,” Shawn repeated, patting him in the back. “Oh, and bring the Ravers girl, I’m willing to bet this will work for her as well.”

That said, Shawn left the interior of the cabin and stepped back on the deck, he didn’t want to give Brandon a chance to question him. It was better to leave him with nothing but curiosity.

His satisfaction, however, gave way to a sour expression as he spotted Kendra at their table. ”There’s that idiot Kurt again, it seems he doesn’t fucking learn.” He thought, watching them laugh at something as he walked over to the table in question.

Kurt slowly stood up when he saw that Shawn was coming back. He looked down at Kendra, who was smiling at him, causing him to briefly return the gesture. “Ok, it looks like the air’s about to become quite heavy around here,” He said, nodding to the girl. “Later, Kendra.”

“Later.” Kendra whispered, preparing herself to deal with whatever stuff Shawn would throw at her for hanging out with Kurt.
