Inside

The automatic doors push aside as you walk towards them. There is a reception desk in the centre of the room which is currently unoccupied, a sign hangs below the desk "CLOSED WEEKENDS". You weren't exactly expecting a welcome party but someone to greet you would have been nice. There is a set of stairs to the left and an elevator to the right, making the obvious decision you ring the elevator button looking around the room waiting for its arrival. The room is modern and has artsy pictures scattered around the room, a few chairs and tables fill the room. You hear a small chime signalling the elevator is here, entering you look at you key, "room 20, huh. I guess thats the...third floor" you say looking at the options on the elevator panel, punching in your floor the elevator ascends.

The upper half of the elevator is brightly lit and surrounded by mirrors, looking at yourself you take deep breaths calming your nerves, "new me" you repeatedly say as the ascension comes to a halt. Stepping out you follow the arrows which signal which door numbers are where, walking down the hall you can hear muffled music coming from a few rooms as you reach number 20 at the end of the hallway. Inserting your key you drag your suitcase into room and sit down on the single bed. The room is spacious, bigger than your room at home; there is a desk and a chair on the opposite side and a window at the end which looks out at the darkened forest.

Hanging up your last piece of clothing in a closet at the end of your bed, you notice a letter resting atop of your bed pillow.

Dear Student.
Welcome to St. Herma, we hope you enjoy your time here.
Although you have joined later than the rest of the students, we hope that you can make friends and settle well into your classes, attached you can find your timetable for the year.
There is a school assembly at 9am tomorrow and you are expected to attend.
Please make your way to the dorm reception before this time. You will be met by a head prefect who shall accompany you to the assembly. Do not be afraid to ask any questions that you may have.
After the assembly you have an appointment with me in my office on 4th floor of the main campus building, I look forward to meeting you.

Placing the letter down you look at your timetable, it has the same lessons you were previous studying such as English, Maths, Physical Education, and Science to name a few. You notice that after your interview with the Headmistress you have English first with Ms Williams, "great, that bitch" you sigh. Setting up your laptop you browse a few news websites and watch an episode of your favourite anime before going to sleep.
