Chapter 32 by airwreck airwreck

Ryan worried about Eva.

Ryan looked at Eva's business card again and wondered how far she would snoop around the abandoned church he had used for several weeks to summon the demons -- besides the pentagram there was no other signs of any misdeeds. He had no criminal record so the police would not have his fingerprints or DNA on file. He pocketed the business card in his pocket and thought that as a precaution perhaps Marlissa could persuade Eva and perhaps even the police to drop the investigation.

Realizing that the three girls must have been thirsty after dancing, Ryan decided to go to the bar to buy some drinks for them. He signaled to one of the bartenders behind the bar, a cute Asian with pink pigtails and dressed in a white tank top that glowed in the black light and a red-black plaid miniskirt that didn't leave much to one's imagination.

"Hey, what do you want to have?" the petite bartender asked.

Figuring he had enough beers for the night Ryan ordered four Jägerbombs for the three girls and himself. He paid for the drinks and brought them to a table near the dance floor where the three girls were. He motioned for them to take a break. The three cheered when he handed them the shots.

"Who was that talking to you?" Marlissa whispered in his ear.

"A local reporter who heard over the police radio about the old church where we got 'married,'" he responded. He did not sense any jealousy in her voice. He wondered if a succubus could be jealous of her master talking to other women.

"Should I talk to her?" the redhead asked.

"Yes but not right now," Ryan said before lifting his glass in the air. "To our new friends!"

The three women repeated his words and then they all dropped the Jägermeister into their glasses of Red Bull energy drink before gulping down the shots.

"Excuse us, girls," Ryan piped up. "I want my wife to meet an old friend. We'll be right back." Ryan took Marlissa by the hand and lead her towards the bar where Eva was being hit on by a young man with too much hair gel.

"Hi Eva," Ryan interrupted. The Latina turned around and smiled, relieved to be rescued from the obnoxious college kid.

"Dude, I was talking to her first!" the young man growled. The redhead stared at him, her green eyes glowed briefly, and waved the young man off -- before he could protest he spun on his heels and walked into the crowd.

"This is my wife, Sam," Ryan introduced Marlissa, who offered her hand to the journalist. "Do you mind if we step outside to talk? It's too noisy in here!"

"Sure!" Eva replied and followed the couple out.
