“You were mourning before I announced myself. Did you have feelings for the summoner?” Kazex prayed to whatever deity is listening that Fall from Grace says no, because it made his next question easier.

Amazingly Grace blushes a deep crimson red. “I grew to value him only as a friend I think. His feelings failed to be reciprocated by me.

“Because of that neither did I have sex with him. He allowed me time to feed off others in the nearby city.”

Kazex can easily understand why the summoner allowed that if he wanted to mate with her. Otherwise he could have just waited until her hunger overrode her higher thought processes. Of course, that could have ended up killing him too.

Abundantly weary of actually fighting Fall from Grace, is Kazex. He is ignorant of what her fighting skill is and too much is riding on him being healthy after this encounter. Therefore, he feels it’s necessary to simply ask.

“I recently left my tribe too. So you could say we are kindred souls… though my split was due to differences of opinion on the future of the tribe. I am intent on forming my own tribe. Would you be interested in helping me populate a new tribe?”

Fall from Grace’s eyes widen in surprise again, “You want to mate with me? For the rest of your life?”

Kazex takes the last question to mean she felt she would outlive him easily. As far as he knew that could easily be true, his knowledge is of chemistry instead of summoning.

“Absolutely, you are an amazing and beautiful woman and I imagine our children will grow into an even more amazing tribe.”

Fortunately from Kazex’s point of view, there are a few minutes of silence before Fall from Grace responds. He can only identify a few of her emotions and maybe thoughts from her face and body language but the length of time means, in his view that she wants to say yes.
