As the year progressed, Brandi's dedication to her Jiu-Jitsu training never wavered. The end of the year was fast approaching, and with it, the highly anticipated test for her green belt. Brandi's private lessons with Regina, a seasoned and skilled Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, continued to be invaluable. Regina pushed Brandi to her limits, honing her technique and teaching her new moves.

One day, during a particularly intense sparring session, Regina caught Brandi off guard. She delivered a powerful strike to Brandi's face. Brandi's two front teeth were sent flying across the mat. Brandi, stunned and in pain, covered her mouth, the taste of blood filling her mouth. Regina, horrified, knelt beside her, her hands on Brandi's shoulders. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that."

Brandi, her vision blurring, managed to nod, wondering if that was true. Feeling the panic welling up inside her, She knew she needed to see a professional, and fast. The oral surgeon, after examining her, informed her that her two front teeth were beyond repair and would need to be replaced with dental implants.

"Hey, babe, I need to talk to you about something," Brandi said the next day, her voice heavy with concern as she sat across from Kyle at their favorite diner. "You know how important Jiu-Jitsu is to me, right?"

Kyle, with a concerned look on his face, nodded. "Of course, it's your passion. What's up?"

Brandi took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "Well, I've been having some issues with Regina during my private lessons. She's really intense, and I'm starting to feel like she's not very patient with me. I'm scared of her, and I'm not sure if I can handle it anymore."

Kyle listened intently, his eyes never leaving Brandi's face. "Have you talked to her about it? Maybe she can adjust her teaching style to better suit your needs."

Brandi shook her head. "I've thought about it, but I'm just too scared. I don't want to upset her or make things worse."

"Well, if it's affecting your confidence and enjoyment of Jiu-Jitsu, then it might be worth having that conversation," Kyle suggested. "But if you don't want to, I'll support you no matter what you decide."

Brandi let out a sigh, feeling a weight lift off her chest. "Thanks, Kyle. I appreciate that. But to be honest, I'm also considering quitting Jiu-Jitsu altogether. With the tooth thing and now this, I just don't know if it's worth it anymore."

Kyle reached across the table, taking Brandi's hand in his. "I know it's tough, but you've come so far. You've worked so hard to get where you are. And you still have your dental implants to recover from. Why don't you take a break, focus on healing, and then reevaluate your decision once you're back on your feet?"

Brandi nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope. "You're right. I need to give myself some time and space. And when I'm ready, I'll come back stronger than ever."

Sensei Bruce, upon hearing the news, was shocked and concerned. He insisted that she start wearing a mouthpiece during all her training sessions. But she also knew that she couldn't let this setback deter her from her Jiu-Jitsu goals. She continued her training, wearing her mouthpiece as Sensei Bruce had instructed.
