“Keira Kirby.” She smiled.

“So, we all have code names here.” Beth grinned. “I'm Fuse.”

“As in she has a short fuse.” Hope said helpfully, causing Beth to grimace.

Josie smirked softly. “I'm V.”

“V?” Keira asked confused.

“It's short for Voltaic, Michael came up with it, but I didn't like it.” She explained.

“Oh, you blow shit up, and you control electricity?” Keira asked, causing Josie to smile in surprise.

Beth giggled. “What do you do?”

“Um, control ice, I guess.” Keira shrugged.

“Oh,” Beth winced. “Sorry, Ice Queen is taken.” She said, glaring at Hope.

“I thought you controlled fire?” Keira said confused.

“It's a moniker, the twins came up with for me.” Hope smiled, annoyed. “Hellfire, is my, codename, or whatever.”

“Bet you’re a hellion between the sheets.” Keira said, trying to bring levity to an intensifying situation.

“Oh, well then maybe you should go by Winter, as in winter is cumming.” Hope replied, snarkily.

“I don't get it.” Keira blinked in confusion.

Beth sighed. “It's a show she likes, it's horrible, everyone dies.”

“Oh!” Keira smirked. “Sounds perfect for me.”

Beth's jaw dropped in shock, and Hope looked surprised.

Josie though, giggled again. “Why don't we start the tour?” she asked, gesturing toward the building.

“Okay.” Keira smiled as the twins took her arms and led her into the building.

Beth leaned in and whispered, “More like despair.” she teased.

“I heard that.” Hope frowned.

“No, you didn't.” Beth said sweetly. “So, you and Raph, are...?” She prodded, as they walked inside the beautiful mansion.

“He’s, my brother.” Keira replied without hesitation.

“But not related.” She continued.

“Close enough.” Keira shrugged.

“Then no romantic notions?” Beth prodded relentlessly.

“No, and yes, I'm single.” Keira giggled, causing Beth to blush. As they walked through a library, she saw a young woman holding her hands out and juggling books with her mind. “So, we're all, Altered?” She asked using the word that Alaric had used.

“Most of us.” Josie nodded.

“Some of us, are more special than others.” Beth rolled her eyes.

“Okay.” Keira frowned.

“Father will explain everything.” Josie smiled. “Um, here we have a class, where they're learning arcane history.”

“Magic is real?” Keira asked, shocked.

“It predates the Rain Fall.” Josie nodded. “Some people are gifted, some are altered, some are legacies.”

“Your dad will explain.” She nodded, getting the point.

Beth frowned suddenly. “Oh god, it's she who shall not be named?” Keira glanced inside and saw a busty black woman in a purple dress with gold trim, which did nothing but accentuate her curves, and show off her sexy body. “Penelope Parker.”

“Shh.” Josie frowned. “Saying her name gives her power.”
