Chapter 4 by Storm Chyld

What does Keira do now?

Shove Hope off of her.

“Get off!” Keira growled, shoving the redhead aside, and scrambled toward her friend. Pulling Raph into her lap, she quickly began pulling the needles out, and casting them aside. Her anger began to boil again, as she looked up at the man.

“Let me explain.” he said holding his hands up, to calm her down.

“I'm Alaric, this is Hope, and we're here to help. We got a tip, your friend was an Alter, and we know people don't respond well to things they don't understand.” He explained.

“Alter?” Keira asked confused.

“People altered by the Rain Fall, and more than human.” He said.

“I thought the rain was proven harmless?” Keira said, confused.

“Its effects didn't occur for the first couple of years. Then the world covered up the truth, to the best of their ability.”

“You stabbed him with needles.” Keira frowned.

“I can summon blades, of various kinds, these were tranq needles.” he said, holding up his right hand, and a long needle popped into existence between his nimble fingers.

“She threw fire at him.” She glared at Hope.

“I threw fire at the priest, who had a gun.” Hope growled back and pointed to a discarded pistol.

Keira glanced around, and realized they were the only ones still there. The pews were smashed, battered, ripped up and shredded. Spotting the gun, she saw the tip of the barrel was slightly melted. “Okay.” She said, still confused. “What happens now?”

“Well, the plan was to take your friend to safe place, but since you are obviously like us, we can take you too, if you’re willing.” Alaric explained.

“If he goes, I go.” She said, options seeming limited.

“Fair enough.” He nodded. “We should go, before cops arrive.”

Keira stood up and picked her brother up in her arms. “Why a priest?”

Hope smirked. “Exorcism.”

“And the gun?” she asked, walking toward the doors.

“In case the exorcism didn't work.” Hope shrugged.

Heading out of the building, Keira put Raph in the back seat, and then got in on the other side, while the other two climbed into the front. Alaric started the car and drove toward their unknown destination. Keira was exhausted from the fight, she had never used her powers that much before, always keeping it hidden, to keep her safe. Laying her head on her brother's shoulder she quickly fell asleep.

Several hours later, Keira woke, head still on her brother's shoulder. Sitting up straight, she yawned, and looked around at the early dawn light. “We're still driving?” She complained softly.

Alaric chuckled softly. “We're almost there.”

Raph yawned, his own brown eyes fluttering open. “Almost where?”

“Salvator School for the gifted.” Alaric answered.

“You must be Salvator.” Raph replied stretching.

“Afraid not. Alaric Holyoak. Salvatore was an angel donor.” He smiled.

Pulling up in front of a giant mansion, the four of them got out and looked at the various students walking around the school campus. Two beautiful women in schoolgirl uniforms walked over to them. One was blonde with gorgeous blue eyes, the other a raven-haired beauty with emerald eyes. Both had fantastic bodies, and perky breasts, contained within their tight outfits.

“Jesus.” Keira murmured. “What do you put in the water here?” Alaric frowned confused, as Raph chuckled softly.

The blond girl smiled and offered her hand. “Hi, I'm Beth...”

“...Josie.” The other offered.

“Holyoak.” They said in unison.

Alaric smiled. “Keira, I was going to talk to Raph, and offer him a place in this school. Why don't you take a tour with my girls, and we'll talk next?”

Keira was suspicious, and wanted answers, but turning down a tour from two beautiful fraternal twins wasn't appealing either.

Stick with her brother or go with the girls?
