Another Fruitless Confrontation !

Jeff wasn't altogether surprised when an angry Debbi burst into his office yet again and threw the new year issue of the company magazine down on his desk. "How could you approve this ?" she stormed. "What ?" said Jeff. "It's proved to be the most successful issue yet. And you agreed to do the cover photograph" he reasoned. "Reluctantly" admitted Debbi. "But all this stuff inside. These other photos. Everyone can see me in my underwear. And that one shows my bum. And as for this" she fulminated, pointing to the frontal ENF pose.

"It's all very tasteful and nothing most of the staff haven't seen before" Jeff argued. "That's as maybe but they can take this home with them and look at it whenever they want" Debbi replied. "And what about all the customers who've been sent it ?" she continued. "The feedback's been very positive" Jeff informed her. "I bet it has, I've already had personal messages from Japan and Korea" responded Debbi. "Well then, what's the problem ?" asked Jeff. "It's embarrassing" said Debbi. "And this article. I'm not getting spanked in reception and then doing god knows what through the rest of the year. I refuse" she insisted.

"But you know how great it all is for morale. The staff have never been happier and some have already told me what a fun environment it is to work in and how much they are looking forward to the year ahead. Plus, Diane's already put so much hard work into it" said Jeff. "Let her do it then"retorted Debbi. "Don't be silly, it would be highly inappropriate for someone in her position." "Well then what about me ? We're on the same grade !" "Yeah, but everyone knows what you're like Deb." "What's that supposed to mean ?" Jeff didn't respond.

"Whatever, I'm not doing this spanking thing" Debbi repeated. "But we've already got Eamon lined up for it and he's very enthusiastic about the whole idea." "So what ? He's retired now" Debbi pointed out. "But he's still a major shareholder and holds a lot of influence over the current board. If you value your position in the company, I'd very much advise you to reconsider" Jeff warned. "I don't understand you. You should be grateful for the way Diane selflessly works to raise your profile within the company" he concluded. Debbi fumed.
