"Okay," Mark said. "I agree, but you have to be my girlfriend."

"Why?"

"Because you know about my powers," Mark said. "I need some assurance you won't betray me."

"Deal," said Marie.

Mark concentrated, and Hope soon joined them, a mindless and blank look on her face.

"Okay Hope," Mark said. "You no longer have a daughter named Caroline. Marie is your only daughter, and you love her and shower her with affection. Also, I am her boyfriend, so me coming over isn't odd in the slightest."

He turned to Marie. "Anything else?"
