Chapter 18 by latexdoll latexdoll

What do you do first?

Go buy a gun.

Strolling around the little markets, looking over all the odd and mundane trade goods one thing you realize is the base currency seems to be silver, and twenty silver is a gold. Basically meaning you have a nice chunk of money. “Nice.” You say with a little grin. The next thing you find out, is your skin must be a bit armored, or something. You step on a rather pointy splinter of wood, and while it hurts, to your pleasant surprise, it doesn't break the skin. Taking one of your sharp fingernails you decide to test further, and while your skin is nice and soft and sexy, it takes quite a bit of pushing to finally break the skin. Now you wouldn't want to be shot or stabbed, but at least little things won't be an issue, which is something, considering how heavy armor is. Several times you pick up a big metal plate or helm, and you can't imagine how people walk around in it. Which brings the next realization, you aren't really very strong. By picking things up and swinging various clubs and swords, you are pretty sure you can carry a bit more than your body weight, which is respectable, but hardly strong.

Finally after quite a bit of walking, shopping and looking, you wind your way into the city proper and find your way into a shop that has a case that you can't stop staring at. It holds what you are sure is an old west style peacemaker, a small pile of what look like .45 lc bullets right next to it. You have no idea how long you simply stand there, hands pressed on the glass, staring, till a man you never saw walk over, is in front of you talking, “Like what you see?”

“Yes I do, I always wanted one.” Looking up you see the man is dressed like he strolled in here from the old west. His clothes are all very neat, including his wide brimmed cowboy hat. He has a pair of holsters at his waist with matching ivory handled pistols. “Can I see it? Is it a .45? How much?”

“Slow down girlie. One question at a time. Let's see, yes you can see it. It is a .45. It'll cost ya 12500 silver.”

“Well shit, all I have is 100 gold, which is 2000 right?” You ask innocently.

“Well yes girlie. Sounds like you got yourself quite the little haul. Let's see what we can do for ya. That one is my show piece, it is magic. I got some other guns in the back. Let me pull over the closed sign and we can go do some business.” He strolls over and pulls a large metal bar across the door bolting it shut. As you find yourself locked in, you are a tad nervous that you are about to be robbed, but as he simply walks past you and says, “Come now girlie, let me show you what I got.” As he leads you back he calls back without looking, “You lookin for flintlock, cap n ball, or just bullets?”

Thinking it over you decide, “Well, unless I simply can't afford it, I suppose just bullets.”

“100 gold right? Oh you can afford quite a bit. Just bullets it is then. I think I have a couple that you will really like. Here we are. Have a seat.” The long hall lined with junk and parts finally comes to an end and opens into an obvious workshop. He pats a tall stool with his hand that sits in front of an oil stained green wooden plank table. Hopping up, you realize slightly to late that you just flashed him your cunt and cross your legs, suddenly embarrassed. “Well then.” Is all he says, obviously not expecting that himself. He then walks over to a stack of wooden boxes and pulls out a few things setting them in front of you. “Here's what I have that fires self contained metal cartridge bullets. That works that is. I have a few other things I am working on, but that's not important I suppose.” First he plops down a very tiny over under double barrel derringer, roughly 3”long. “.44 rimfire, very nice, I think I have roughly 200 bullets on hand, can't be reloaded, but if ya save the brass I’ll give you a discount on ammo in the future.” Second he sets down a rather small frame snub nose revolver, “.32 cal, also rimfire, same deal, I think I got 400 bullets give or take. Not as powerful as the derringer but it holds 5 bullets and can kill a man sure enough, wouldn't use it on a monster though.” Third he sets down a larger revolver that looks just like the one upstairs but is jet black with ivory grips, “This one I am sure you want. It is a .45, basically the same gun as upstairs, but not magic. Ammo can be reloaded if you want to carry the tools, or you can bring me the cases and I can do it for you. I have easily 500 bullets right now and twice that in parts.” Then he starts on long guns, of which he sets down two. “These are a piece of pride for me, I finally got them to work. This one is a double barrel 10 gauge shotgun. Kicks like a beast but can knock down a giant if ya shoot em in the face.” He gives a short little laugh before continuing, “And this one is the king of the crop, a lever action .32-20 rifle, my faithful recreation of a Winchester 92. Holds 15 rounds, and packs quite a punch. This one I highly recommend in this god forsaken land. Like the .45 this ammo can be reloaded with the right tools, or save the brass, bring it here and I can do it for you. I think I have 200 rounds or so loaded right now. This is my newest creation, and I aim to get some of em magicked, but so far I haven't yet.”

“All very cool, um, how much?”

“Silly me, yes. Smallest to biggest I suppose. Derringer 300 silver, the .32 revolver 500 silver. The rimfire ammo I sell by the 10 pack, for 5 silver. The .45 is 800 silver and it's ammo I sell loaded in packs of 10 for 15 silver, if you bring me the brass I will load em for you for 1 silver each, or I can sell you the powder n bullet for you to reload, 5 copper each, well 10 for 5 silver that is. As for the long guns, I'll let the shotgun go for 1200 silver, and the rifle for 1500 silver. Ammo for either is 2 silver per shell, reload components half that.”

Math swimming in your head, you try to do all the conversions to gold, and all you can really come up with is if you get the rifle or shotgun that is about it, if you want two guns they will have to be pistols. “What if I wanted say a pair of pistols? Do you have others of these or is this it?”

“Sadly girly on hand this is all I have for bullets. If you want a nice cap n ball revolver, I have several, I sell em for 400 silver each, plus enough powder, shot n caps for 50 shots. Powder n bullets beyond that is basically 8 copper per shot, if you measure the powder accurately.”

The thought of trying to hand load a cap n ball revolver is an interesting prospect, definitely a less expensive rout, and powerful, just after 6 bullets, that's it. Thinking it over, you figure you'd better buy something.

What do you offer?
