Chapter 9 by iReed iReed

Do the girls agree? Does anyone else catch wind of this?

The Team is in Agreement

Something weird is happening to them?

And it's triggered by talking?

And Ruby wants them to keep doing it. Why?

Team RWBY was taken aback by what their leader was claiming. A sort of... what? Hypnosis? Mind control? With talking being the trigger? Were they accidentally saying a trigger word or something?

But then again, everyone at the table have been noticing strange things.

Weiss may have had prejudices against the Faunus once upon a time, but Blake was sure that she wouldn't have genuinely said that Cardin was right to tease Velvet or that her ears were shameful.

That being said, Blake agreed with Weiss 100%. She'd even go so far as to say that all Faunus, herself included, were shameful. However, she knew Weiss enough to know that wouldn't be her real thoughts.

Similarly, Yang knew that Blake would never ever say such negative stuff about the Faunus. Granted, Yang also knew that Blake was stupid, awful to be around, and definitely should feel ashamed. Still, Blake would never say stuff like that normally.

The more they thought about it, the more the dots started connecting. Team RWBY were having their minds forcibly altered somehow.

Maybe a semblance could do that... an incredibly powerful one, if so.

Still, Ruby said that speaking was what triggered the changes. If that were so, why would she want them to keep talking? It may cause irreparable mental damage. They may change too much and could lose themselves forever.

Answering Ruby, each girl unintentionally threw themselves under the bus,

"That sounds so... AWESOME. I want to keep changing myself until I'm unrecognizable."

"Are you sure about this, Ruby? If so, that's a GREAT idea. We should definitely keep triggering it."

"It seems totally BELIEVABLE. You're so smart, Ruby."

The girls quickly realised their mistakes, but then, just as immediately, changed their minds. It just seemed like a good idea.

Ruby was a tad distressed. She wanted them to keep talking to study the change. This wasn't supposed to be-

"This will be fun. We shouldn't hold back at all; we should go wild. We shouldn't even try to study it or find out how this is happening. I don't care what happens to us." said Ruby, desperately trying to bite her tongue or stop herself, before her and her team's fate was sealed.

What's next?
