"I'm always right"

Without much inspiration, Ruby wasn’t sure what to write first. As she looked onto the blank page, however, a subtle, strange thought entered her mind. For some reason, Ruby had the weird assumption that she should write down a wish: more accurately, something that she wanted changed, altered to make things better.

She had no clue where the thought came from, but it served well to guide her decision.

Speaking of what she’d change, Ruby was kind of worried about her intellectual prowess. As amazing as she was practically, for the most part, the academic side of their huntress training was far more of an uphill climb. She wasn’t dumb but she probably needed some help here and there.

Unaware of her actions, Ruby’s hand began grazing over the clean page, writing something down.

“I’m always right.”
“I always have the correct answer for any question.”

Jolting herself, Ruby realised that she had just written in the book two sentences.

“Whoops. Guess I got ahead of myself,” said the girl.

Oddly, she didn’t feel the need to write anything else after it, finding it sufficient. So, instead, she closed the book and placed it in her bag. She figured that it may be useful as a notebook or sketchbook, if nothing else.

She had a History class with Dr. Oobleck tomorrow, and she felt confident.
