“You want me… to tell you how I feel?” Liara said. “About you? And me? Are you sure you want to hear it?”

“Whatever it is,” Shepard said, taking hold of Liara’s hands. “I’ll be okay.”

Liara said. “I’m afraid my feelings have changed a lot.”

“Oh…” Shepard said looking disappointed.

“I used to like you very much. I think I made that obvious from the start,” Liara said. “But now… so much has changed…”

Shepard nodded. “I…I understand…”

“I’ve fallen in love with a beautiful woman,” Liara said. “One that I would give my heart to. One that I would love for the rest of my life, even after she passes. If she ever does.”

Shepard nodded.

“I would do anything to be with her for the rest of my life,” Liara said.

“And I want that happiness for you,” Shepard said.

“Good…” Liara said. “Because otherwise this would be very awkward.”

“What are you talking about?” Shepard asked.

Liara took a deep breath as she knelt down on one knee, and pulled out a small black box. “Commander Jane Shepard, will you marry me?”
