Smash Bros Upgrade

Samus chooses the Smash Bros upgrade. Hearing about her apparently having been there intrigues her enough to want to try it. To her surprise an entire envelope falls into the tray instead of just a chip. It is sealed shut by wax with an imprint of a circle with 2 off-center lines going through. She opens it finding a letter and a chip with the same symbol. She reads it over.

"CONGRATULATIONS!!! Samus Aran, you are once again invited to the latest and greatest Super Smash Bros competition! We are pleased to announce that this latest competition will be rated X with rule changes and new events that are sure to thrill and excite our audiences. If you wish to participate please insert the chip to accept this invitation. We hope to have you again!"

Samus is confused by the letter. It's written as if they've known her for a while but she has never heard of them. Still her curiosity gets the better of her, she has to know who these people are and what this tournament is. Samus moves her ponytail aside as she inserts the chip. Suddenly everything goes white.

Samus is left in a dreamlike state as her memories are returned. Super Smash Bros, the fighting competition of course, how could she ever forget! She remembers the very beginning feeling honored to be invited as one of the first 12 fighters. She remembers the battles, trials and having to deal with the Master and Crazy hands and most of all she remembers loving every second of the fight. She remembers the strange worlds she visited and stranger fighters she met, people from worlds where magic was more common than tech, other space faring pilots, strange powerful creatures that could fit into balls and so many others. She remembers fighting alongside them against the Sub Space Emissary and saving the worlds of Light and Darkness from Galeem and Dharkon. She does remember feeling dismayed that both Ridley and Dark Samus got invited as well in the last tournament but even then she loved getting to smash them off stage. And now she got invited to the latest one and her heart is beating in excitement.

The blinding light finally fades as Samus finds herself in a penthouse apartment styled to resemble her own ship. She smiles, remembering the living accommodations were always extravagant and this year it seems that the budget is higher than ever. She walks to her living room seeing the large TV and next to the remote a note that says 'Please watch the introduction video'. She grabs the remote and falls onto the couch excited to see what's new this time around as she presses play.
