Chapter 285 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

What's next?

Second Chance

Janette gasped and sat up, finding herself in the arms of the golden haired woman Desiree while surrounded by light. She smiled back and carefully placed her down, allowing her to adjust to her new environment as that all too familiar setting of her family farm grounds began to manifest.

"Welcome back, I hope Vy wasn't too rough on you." Desiree stood up, crossing her arms with a finger placed delicately on her chin.

Janette felt her legs were rather weak and wobbly, she fell to her knees as her body felt exhausted somehow. It was like she had made an all day hiking trip up a steep mountian front and back without pausing to rest. She didn't sweat, she just felt fatigued in her muscles.

"It was like watching someone else's body, like I was the eyes but they were in control." Her eyes darted to her hands, her mind running through the visions of what she saw. "I asked Spi'Reto to do that, ew. And-and her mind, I could hear her thoughts as if we shared the same space."

"Because you did, that's what it means to become her Envoy. Rather brave of you to do so, I find it interesting how **** times can call for the craziest of solutions in hopes for a possibility to find resolution. It amuses me, despite numerous centuries the people do not change. Could it be animal instincts, or perhaps something else?"

As she spoke, Desiree calmly paced to the opposite end from where she stood across from Janette with her back to her. Janette looked up and froze still as Syri turned around with an adorable smile, wagging her tails happily.

"So let's begin shall we?" Syri giggled, approaching her with a playful skip to help her to her feet. She seemed too stunned to react, feeling a cold sweat as Syri tilted her head with a slight bob of her puffy white hair. "What's wrong, you look like you've seen a ghost!"

"Th-That's not fair." Janette began to turn red as she felt two furry snakes slithering and wrapping around her thighs, recognizing them to be her cat tails. Syri, pretending not to have heard, reached out to grasp her hand, cupping it with both paws before playfully tracing along her forearm.

"You know, I've been wondering..." Janette couldn't even blink, she even smelled like Syri, that distinct whiff of cherry that stuck around whenever Syri pranced around in her presence only add fuel to the fire that torched her lustful desires. "About what happened the first time we met that night."

She swallowed, unaware that day had turned into night as her eyes stayed fixated on her Nekomata.

Syri continued. "Was it really our first night meeting each other when you taught me how to have sex?"

Goodness, she even has her playful tone when she talks. Janette shook her head no. "The first night, not the first night no. No it was-"

"The second night! Naughty girl! And tell me, why did you take me that night. Thought to take advantage of poor innocent Syri, hm?"

Before she could respond, Janette found herself wrapped around in a sweet embrace as Syri pressed herself against her breasts without lustful intent, the way a child hugs their mother. But her innocence did not last as soon it faded away with a subtle curve of her lip. She began sliding downard, falling to her knees as she glared up to lock eyes with her, needy and seductive.

"Or was it... was it Syri who made the first move... how did she do it?" She asked with a quick wink, her furry paws caressing the trembling woman's thighs. With a sudden pull, Janette fell back while finding her cat girl smiling from between her legs, parting them further as she inched closer. That dress Janette wore did nothing to protect her virtue, a thin cotton fabric was all that kept her maidenhood protected now.

Syri reached in as slowly she began to extend her claws, the tip of one gently tracing along the waist of her panty before finding a bit of resistance to it. Ever so slowly she began to pull the fabric down, sliding it off her kegs with Janette feeling no need to struggle against her. Now her pussy was left exposed, naked and glistening with a thin trace of wetness along the lips as Syri locked eyes with her once more.

"Did she do it like this?" She asked, extending her tongue in a playful tease before lowering her head.

"D-Don't!" Janette gasped, cupping Syri's head from both sides to prevent her from drinking from her nectar.

"Oh? Not in the mood, or did I come off too strong? Did you want to take charge, Mommy?"

Janette huffed, her face scrunched into a frown as she pushed the Nekomata away from her. "Stop trying to appeal to me using her! I'm given a chance to fight for her right, so what do I do then? A-Am I suppose to just talk about her and give reasons to bring her back, or is there a process to this?"

Syri looked annoyed, standing up and extending her height by several feet as her body morphed back into her eloquent white dress. She shook her head, waving her bouncy wavy gold hair around her shoulders before glaring down.

"Child, this is the process. You are the beggar and I the executioner. Of course, I wouldn't dare create a world to frighten you, haunt you with your insecurities or scold at you like an angry parent. It's no fun that way, I detest such aggression."

"Oh, okay. That's... fine." Janette held her arm, sheepishly grinding her foot into the ground. It's not what she expected, she assumed the worst but to be presented with this may prove to be beneficial for her. Suddenly she felt more confident about her idea, perhaps she can save Syri from this!

"Although I must say, there are certain details I would like to explore surrounding this." Desiree leaned forward, extending her arm and reaching until her index finger poked at Janette's forehead.

"My head?"

"The mind, child. We shall first explore the mind, don't you think?" She folded her arms with a knowing smirk as Janette looked to be uncomfortable with the suggestion.

"How badly do we need to look into my head for?" She asked sheepishly.

With a shrug, she answered in a dismissive manner. "Oh we don't have to look into it at all dear, that is your call to make. It all depends on how badly you wish to save her."

"Oh, so **** then."

"No, not ****. An agreement, that I believe is the word you used when you asked us to listen. I would think a saleswoman like yourself would recognize a good bargain when you hear it."

"You're good." Janette smiled in appreciation with Desiree giggling in return with a flick of her sunny hair.

"Honey, I'm the best. Now, close your eyes and count to ten. No wait, count to three instead."

"What am I, a child?" Desiree gave her a look as Janette lowered her head. "Sorry."

With a deep breath, she nervously clasped and unclasped her sweaty hands while feeling the beating drum of her heart ring in her ears. Fortunately she wasn't sweating, but she certainly felt ten times smaller as she began to count each number down.

"One." She shook as a gust of wind picked up and spiralled around her. Tempted to look, she squeezed her eyes tighter instead.

"Two." She could hear some giggling now, that came from more than one voice. Light voices, female voices, coming from behind. She could hear the singing of crickets from her left and the sound of rustling grass waving in the wind. She turned her head by instinct to follow that noise, but immediately heard Desiree click her tongue to remind her. She hung her head and waited patiently before anouncing her last digit.

"Three."

"You may open your eyes now, dear." Janette did so, finding herself in a peculiar and suspicious outdoor area out in a field of wheat and dry grass. She shielded her eyes from the shining sun above and was welcomed by a clutter of little cat girls wearing cute makeshift clothing which seemed to alternate between leather and leaves. They were running in circles, chasing one another or perhaps playing follow the leader. Either way there laughter was cute and infectious, Janette found herself smiling as she watched them play and dance around, some on two legs and some on all four.

"Syri! Syri come out here!"

Janette gasped, raising a hand to cup her mouth as one of the girls poked her head out from the field of wheat , her cat ears stiff and in high alert. She wagged her two little tails behind her, reaching above her head before she turned to see Janette with a curious look. Janette froze, uncertain of what to do or what to say. She squealed when a warm hand fell on her shoulder followed by gentle laughter from Desiree.

"You're safe here, she can't see us. We don't exist to them, we are just here to observe." She explained. Janette nodded and looked back, her eyes scanning around. Syri snuck away into the field again, she had lost sight of her.

"SYRI!"

"Meow! Comin' Mommy!" Little Syri mewed back, pouncing out of the field in sight and scattering across the muddy trail. Janette gasped as Syri ran towards her but effortlessly ran through her body, hurrying back as Janette spun around to catch sight of her leaping into her mother's arms.

Emyri beamed and hugged her daughter tight, both of them purring in delight before she gently lowered her little girl back down. "You're getting heavier, my back can't support this as well as it use to."

Syri flashed a wide smile. "Ha! Dat means I gettin' biggah!"

"Yes you are, come now supper is ready." Rather than grab her by the hand, the two walked side by side with Syri's tail wrapped around her mother's like a leash, the two joined the clutter of Nekomata girls in their little feast as each cat girl passes around several bowls of food around. Desiree gave Janette a push, tilting her head for them to follow. Once they arrived at the circle of cat girls, Janette leaned in for a closer look to see what they were eating. It smelled nice and fruity, and she now knew why. The bowls were made of twigs and clay similar in appearance to that of a birds nest, and each bowl carried a type of fruit with them. Not all were passing bowls around, some women would hold stone slabs like plates with chopped salmon bits on display. She did admit, it looked delicious although the fish she would prefer to eat cooked, she made a face as she watched one Nekomata swoop up a raw slice into her mouth and chewing eagerly, paw rubbing her belly in satisfaction.

"Why are we here?" Janette asked. Desiree smiled and held a finger to her lips before pointing back at Syri. She sat in her mother's lap sharing their food together, her little face stained purple from messily eating grapes. She was watching a trio of older Nekomata's whispering to each other and giggling in unison. Fascinated, she reached in for another scoop of grapes to chew into before licking her lips.

Emyri rocked her gently before noticing her gaze. "Something on your mind, Syri?"

"Nuu." She looked away, averting her eyes.

"You can tell me, it's okay." She assured her, holding her on her lap.

"I wanna see."

"Want to see what?"

"Hoo-manes." Emyri kept quiet until Syri continued. "I wanna see em, pwease?"

"It'sssss um, maybe we can discuss this after, hun?" Syri began to pout, folding her arms across her chest. "Don't fuss dear, we can talk later before sleep okay?"

"O'kayyy." She spoke in a low tone, slowly picking at her food with tiny pokes from her paw.

"Don't play with your food dear." Emyri bounced her lightly before returning to their meal.

Janette kept watching as another minute passed on before breaking the silence. "What was this meant for?"

"What do you think?" Desiree waved her hand, turning everything around them into a blur of colors running along a white canvas painting before forming a new image for them, one where Syri was now older in her teenage years sat atop a high tree branch at night. The noises of nearby frogs felt familiar to her, Janette spun around to follow where Syri was looking. It was her house, the old mansion. Seeing it in its glory one more time brought mixed emotions, she blinked back tears as image of it burning down in flames still felt like it was yesterday in her mind.

She wasn't prepared to literally see herself exit the front door to water her garden, tipping the bucket just enough for a steady stream to wash down on each rose. This was an experience, she studied herself momentarily and crossed her arms.

"I didn't know my ass stuck out like that." She said to herself before being alarmed by generous laughter from behind followed by clapping hands.

"We tend to be our one worse critics. If you ask me, I don't think I'm so special myself. Yet everytime a soul lays eyes on me they remind me of dehydrated travelers who lay their eyes onto the cleanest, coolest lake in the hottest day. I find it both flattering and amusing."

"Really? A goddess like you had insecurities as well?" She asked with a raised brow.

Desiree nodded with an approved smile. "Of course I do, does your religion depict me as a heart of stone?"

"I suppose they left out that detail. You seem more... well, real I guess. Like us." Janette turned to catch Emyri climbing the tree sitting beside Syri. Those beautiful feline eyes sparkled in the moonlight like bright colored stars when close in proximity. She wondered if perhaps she could see those eyes from her house.

"So pretty." Syri blushed, feeling funny in her tummy. Emyri turned to face her, catching her off guard. "M-Mom, I didn't see you-"

"That's her, that's the woman who owns this house." Emyri said, "Her scent is the strongest around the house and between the trees, she frequents this place more than the others."

"R-Right." Syri answered with a nod, keeping a serious face to hide her embarrassment. But Emyri noticed how active her tails were behind her, it reminded her of her mother and how her body would react to joy as well. Each time Cyri would embrace her with a motherly hug and her tails would flail like crazy with excitement. How she missed her so...

"Syri, I know you never seemed interested in any of the boys when we visit Aunt Alma."

"Mom," Syri groaned, "Not this again."

"It's okay for you not to pick a mate yet, you're still young after all."

"None of the boys were my type, that's all." She fumed.

"I know. I don't think boys are your type."

Syri hid her face under her paws. "Mommy, please!"

"I-Is it because of Nityri and Na'Vi? You can tell me dear, it's okay. Mommy will listen."

Syri dragged her paws along her face, sight before turning away. "I saw how the girls would tease them, but it has nothing to do with them."

"I'm right though, aren't I? Boys just... aren't your type."

"Why do you say it like that?" She hissed.

"I-I didn't mean it like that! Forgive me sweetie, Mommy didn't practice this you see."

"This is embarrassing!" Syri huffed, hugging her legs.

Emyri looked on and lowered her eyes. "I know, I'm sorry. I should have known better, I should do better."

Both mother and daughter sat alone in silence, with Janette watching from the ground below standing beside Desiree.

"Are we alone?" She asked.

Desiree shook her head. "Not quite, we are accompanied by two others but they are asleep at this moment. This is a special mother daughter bond here."

"They're talking about me, but why do I need to hear this?"

Desiree looked at her with concern. "This is when her mother has the talk, because of you."

"What did I do?"

"You were there. You stole her."

"What?"

"You stole her gaze, you were her first crush."

"Oh!" Janette looked back up, observing as both girls swung their tails from above.

"I don't know what to say."

"Just say nothing, it's better for both of us." Syri whined.

Emyri recoiled from her words, placing a paw on her chest. She drew a deep breath and glanced up at the stars momentarily, pausing for some time before closing her eyes.

"I love you Syri. You have my mother's spirit in you, and sometimes I may not be the best Mother to you. I may be clumsy, I may say the wrong things or do the wrong actions. But I will always, always love you. And whoever you choose will be so lucky to have you."

Syri stayed quiet, neither nodding or shaking her head. Emyri smiled and took it with grace, adjusting herself to climb down. "Oh, and I will want to meet her and tell her about your most embarrassing moments."

"Mom." Syri scoffed.

"And she better treat you like royalty and know how to cook, because you're a lousy cook yourself."

"Mom."

"Oh and I will be telling everyone about her too once I get to meet her."

"Mother!" Syri and Emyri began to laugh, exchanging looks and teasing each other with subtle jabs from their tails. "Thank you, you can go now."

Emyri nodded and swung down from her branch leaving Syri alone. A moment later she climbed back up to hug her once more, kissing her forehead. "Sleep well dear. You'll need your rest. Tomorrow night we will go save your sister, okay?"

"Okay. Sleep well Mom."

"You too dear." Emyri lept down for good this time, leaving Syri to watch Janette pat her dress before entering the mansion once more. A moment later the light from the windows went dark.

"Sleep well." She whispered with a soft red hue in her face.

"She really had it in for you." Desiree spoke out, stepping forward to face Janette once again. "You two make an adorable couple. She even marked you, perhaps by instinct or perhaps by accident but a mark works when both souls are compatible."

"I know." Janette nodded, feeling that tingle on the mark left on her neck as a reminder.

"So then why did you sleep with someone else at the tavern?"

That shattered any moment Janette was having then. "That's not a fun question."

"It's not. Answer it."

"I don't know. The opportunity was presented to me, I took it. I was selfish and wanted to experience it, but I regret it terribly."

"I know. I can hear your heart from here. It won't stop beating at a fast rate. Try to control your breathing, close your eyes and think happy thoughts. Count to three."

"I don't know."

"Trust me." She felt like she had ****, but those words didn't seem demanding like she was ordered to do it. It's just in her mind what benefit would she have by arguing with her?

Janette closed her eyes, breathing in.

"Inhale from your nose, exhale from your mouth. Like so, in and out. In and out. Good, now count with me. One."

"One."

"Two."

"Two."

"Three."

Janette opened her eyes, finding herself in the safe walls of her childhood library. Turning back, she found Desiree now wearing a librarian's attire with a book opened in hand.

"Interesting study, learning about the mating cycles of Monster Girls. Oh, seems you marked a few of them with hearts."

"Eek! Gimme that!" Janette reached out to snatch the book, but Desiree spun around like a matador does to the bull.

"Wolf girls, three hearts. Vampires, two hearts. Succubus, four hearts? Someone's a freak in the sheets." She smiled, enjoying the anguish she caused to her human victim.

"Stop it! This has no part to play with this!"

"Is that so? Then what's marked around Cat Girls?"

Janette gulped, silently staring as Desiree displayed the page for her.

The Nekomata. Five hearts.

Janette fell to the floor, her legs giving out as she collapsed like a bowl of jelly. "I give up, take me away now."

"No can do dear, this is too much fun!" Desiree beamed.

"I thought you were the embodiment of lust!" She barked with a red face.

Desiree tilted her head, her index fingers pressing together back and forth. "Lust doesn't always represent sex you perv. I do have a lust for knowledge as well. That is why I chose to represent you."

"Me?" Janette calmed down, glancing up to see Desiree spinning around atop a reading table.

"This foundation of knowledge and wisdom, this is what I yearn for, a place I can call home. But to me it's not enough, a book can only hold a thousand words before the page is full. I need more, I desire all the books from all libraries, studies, biographies, novels, I want it all! I want to learn what you learn, I want to understand the wonders this planet has to offer. So many inventions, so many studies. It's such a remarkable achievement, no matter how often life begins anew you always satisfy me with these increasing studies of experience and wisdom. It's soo... aaaaaaahhhhhhh~"

In a moment of weakness, Desiree felt her legs tremble and her mind empty of words, her expression regressed to a dumb look of relief. She closed her eyes and fell to her knees, bending forward and catching herself from falling off the side. Janette looked at her in confusion before blushing upon realization of what had passed, the scent too added as an extra clue.

"You really just climaxed from that speech?"

"Mmmmm... I needed that. It feels good, but it doesn't compare to the real thing." Desiree curled up into a ball, rolling on her side as Janette took a seat at the table to be at eye level with her. "You've no idea what it's like stuck in the realm of the souls like us. You lose all sense of touch, taste and smell. Most of our habits carry on from our passion, strong memories remain in the soul but can only imitate a fraction of what we wish to feel and taste. A climax here means nothing to me, but a good orgasm with a real body? I wouldn't want to leave the bedroom if I had that."

"Why do you... why are you and your sisters-?"

"Peculiar?" Desiree smiled. "It's our nature, we embody the emotions we give to you. A drop of essence from us worked into Father's trick of the hand created dominant life forms. Humans were his favorite, mine too."

"Charmed." Janette drummed her fingers along the surface, her glance fixated elsewhere but her mind occupied in something else.

Desiree picked up her head, now more serious as she brushed her hair away from her face. "You've always had a curious eye for Monster Girls."

"I like them better than regular girls. I'm weird like that I guess."

"Perhaps, but you weren't raised with the brightest or most accepting environment. Mom and Dad would leave you to the nanny to raise, did they not?"

"Most contact I had with them was when Dad decided I was old enough to be taught the tools of the trade and marketing, while Mom tried to fit me in pretty dresses and search for men with the idea of courting me in mind. I had a suspicion they had wanted a son but I suppose they were too busy to try again or perhaps it proved difficult to have another baby. I never asked."

Janette ran her hand along her forehead, pulling her hair back with a frustrated sigh while Desiree watched and stood patiently for her to continue.

"I understand, I didn't do the right things. I fetishized cat girls so when I had the opportunity I took it. I was needy and wanting a partner of my own, but she was super cute. She has a squeaky voice to her, and that silly personality. I like how naive she can be, she's always asking questions and always being optimistic. I like that, it's like whenever I'm feeling doubtful or nervous she has a smile that can infect me just by looking at it. And when we cuddle I feel comfortable like everything is going to be okay."

Janette paused for a moment to think, briefly clearing her throat before leaning forward on the table.

"It's not right or fair for her to be put in this situation and if I can save her from it I'll do it. I've been a shit girlfriend and a lustful one at that, honestly I'm not worth being given a second shot so what I'm asking of you is the impossible. Which is why I figure maybe we can make a trade?"

"Oh?" Desiree touched her lip with a delicious smirk to her.

"Yea. My body for hers, I can take her place and you let her go free. It's the highest I can offer in exchange for her live, she has so much to live for. Let her find someone better worth her time. I was needy, sleazy, and a horrible girlfriend. I was fixated on what I wanted that I didn't take a step back to think about her. Heck we don't even know each other well. We really... no I really screwed up that one. So what do you say, we have a deal?"

Desiree shook her head. "You really don't know how to face your actions, do you hun?"

"Huh?"

"You're so **** to give yourself away that I'm thinking you're more scared of trying with her again then you are with us. Which is, somewhat insulting but I understand." Desiree climbed off the table, adjusting her dress and towering over Janette by several feet before leaning down to poke her head. "This little noggin of yours is quite a specimen, it's your go-to specialty but you tend to overuse it. Stop thinking with this and start using this instead."

She lowered her hand to poke her in her left breast. Janette hesitated.

"What if I mess up or it doesn't work out?"

"Then you tried your best, you pick up the pieces and learn to move on. I would think you of your friends would know best Janette, it's not about winning your happiness. It's about realizing what makes you happy at all. Think of it like your fruit business if that helps." She winked and sat back on the table as Janette kept silent, rethinking those words. "You may thank me later. Stop hurting yourself now and own up to it, be better. Can you do that for me?"

Janette nodded in agreement.

"Splendid. Then it's settled." She hopped off the table and out of the way, revealing a glowing orb behind her hovering in plain sight. When Janette stepped in for a closer look, she began to distinguish some facial features from the individual stuck in that sphere. The cat paws, the silver fur, those long tails and her cute freckled face, it was Syri waiting for her in a sleeping state. Turning around to face Desiree one last time, Janette struggled with what to say as it became hard for her to breathe.

"T-Thank you."

"We don't all get a second chance Jay. Do it right."

She nodded once more, reaching back with her palm resting along the orb. It cracked like fragile glass, the crack beginning to travel along the tiny prison as beautiful colors emerged through its seams in a mesmerizing manner. Once the sphere ruptured, the glass dissolved into white light blowing past them, waving Janette's hair as Syri now fell into her arms. With a soft grunt, she picked her up by the arms before gently lowering herself to lay her down, adjusting her grip and sliding an arm under her knees to properly hold her.

"Ooof! A little heavy-" Janette groaned. Desiree giggled and with a circular motion of her finger formed a large portal from thin air, presenting it to her like a present. With a subtle nod, Janette slowly walked through that portal before it closed behind her, and the girls were nowhere in sight.

Desiree rested her chin on her hand, annoyed as she could hear someone snoring nearby. Turning around, she saw Cora tucked between book shelves using several open books as her blanket and dozing off on the ground.

"A fat lot of help you were." She whined, throwing a book at her sister.

Cora snorted before snoring once again.
