Chapter 284 by SilverSpectre006 SilverSpectre006

What's next?

A Green Tinged Mirror

Na'Vi raised her hand to shield her from the bright light as she entered through the void, finding herself alone in a space of white emptiness. Once her vision began to focus, she allowed her hand to drop before realizing what had become of her paws. Fingers, she had human fingers with light pink fingernails at the tip. Looking down, she discovered herself in the possession of human hands and human feet with no tails or fur on her body. It was a shock that left her wondering just what other changes had happened to her body?

"What do you think of your new look?"

A voice echoed around the girl as Na'Vi glanced around in an attempt to find its source. Pretty soon, life began to enter the world as her surroundings now errupted in familiar growth of green plant life and bumpy terrain. She now stood in the old terrain of where they once lived in, before the attack fell on their clutter. Where the Nekomata's resided among tall trees, sheltered under dirt hills and sleeping in comfortable holes they would dig to keep safe from winter and other dangers in the world. However, Na'Vi found herself alone in this place as if she had returned to visit a world that had been abandoned long ago.

"I like this one, she's quite peculiar and yet simple to describe." The same voice chimed in.

"I don't." A more bitter sounding voice responded. "I can see it in her eyes, this one is bitter, selfish, and feels like the world owes her but for what I wonder? Could it be the fact that your mother chose to go with her mate with the promise to come back for you? That didn't go well. Or perhaps, it's that your first love has found herself a new one to call mate? A proper mate at that, one who could care for her, love her, and father her plenty of wonderful, beautiful little children."

Na'Vi growled under her clenched teeth, turning around to face Janette glaring at her with a fire in her eyes. "What's that, you don't fancy being one of them? Try wiggling your fingers, you might enjoy the freedom and opportunities given through the advantage a hand weilds over a paw."

"Careful, Vy. Treat her kindly, it's not fair to be so aggressive to our guest." Desiree appeared from behind Na'Vi, placing her two hands along the now turned human woman's shoulders as she towered over her. Na'Vi looked up to lock eyes with her, and Desiree beamed on return. When Na'Vi turned all the way around to face her, Desiree kneeled down so that they were at eye level before wrapping her arms around her in a warm hug.

"There there, my child. You've been through so much, I apologize on behalf of my sister's attitude. She isn't fond of certain traits that serve as a reminder." Na'Vi felt rather awkward being held the way a mother would hug her baby, she felt uncertain yet nervously hugged her back. Something close to a cold shiver ran along her hands and tickled her feet as they embraced, she wouldn't have noticed if it didn't tickle her somewhat.

Vy watched them hold each other and rolled her eyes. "You assume too much sister, you don't know everything."

"I know it drives you crazy seeing a mother with her child." Desiree grinned back as Vy huffed and turned away. Desiree clicked her tongue and shook her head, letting go of Na'Vi and standing up to her height of around seven feet, draped with that eloquent white dress which hugged her chest firmly. Brushing her gold hair from her eyes, she crossed her arms in annoyance. "Speaking of, shouldn't you be letting go of that poor woman and let her plea for her chosen mate? It doesn't strike me as fair if you refuse to grant her the opportunity to speak."

"If it means getting rid of you and letting me deal with things on my own, yes." Vy rolled her eyes and hunched her back, frustrated at the sound of her sister's soft laughter. "Stop interrupting and leave us."

"Give me Janette to play with and I'll be on my way." Desiree folded her arms, impatiently waiting for her sister to react. "You're no fun when you're acting like this now hurry and be done with it!"

Vy closed her eyes, pressed her palm between her breasts. Though she occupied Janette's body, she pushed onto her own chest as slowly she began to manifest her true spiritual form outward. Janette's body fell back with a thud, appearing **** yet unharmed. Vy turned around and looked longingly at her face as her eyes wondered around her waist and chest.

"It's not fair." She muttered, opting to look away as Desiree carefully approached the body.

"I'm sorry Vy, you know I would help if I could."

"Just go, leave me alone like you said." She spoke rather coldly to her in return.

Desiree kept quiet for a minute, staring at her sister as her face told an expression of concern before shifting to a more serious controlling face. "As you wish, but someone will be here to spectate the two of you."

"Absolutely not-"

"This isn't an argument, we have discussed this before and I will not be allowing you to change your mind because of a fit. Do as you wish, but she wants to join in too and that is final. End of discussion." Desiree asserted, stamping her foot down. Vy huffed and kept quiet, turning her back on her once more.

Na'Vi looked down and inspected her hands, admiring how delicate they look and how soft and gentle they felt. She wiggled her fingers then froze, feeling the back of her neck tingle as something warn breathed behind her, her instincts warning her of an incoming threat. Spinning around, she felt time stop as she stood facing an enormous woman with a pool of drool falling from her lower jaw. Her chest was enormous yet saggy and limp, and her body seemed to wobble in all the wrong areas. This woman shook her head, sniffed the air and reached around to scratch her back before sluggishly moving closer.

"Your scent, it's overwhelming." She spoke in a sluggish form, sounding slow and dimwitted as her tiny eyes poked out from her pudgy face. She licked her lips, frightening her with that enormous tongue of hers as she dragged the back of her palm across her runny round nose. "So strong, I can taste it in my tongue."

Na'Vi lept back and quickly retreated until she felt herself lean against an apple tree. This thing grew a freakishly wide smile on her face before moving awkwardly towards her, almost in a sort of wobbly hopping motion as she jumped from one leg to the other. Na'Vi felt her body tense and she dove out of the way, digging into the dirt with her feet as she scrambled to pick herself up. Lousy human feet were useless for grip, she missed her feline paws already.

"Gula, you behave now and don't go off trying to eat our guest. She's hear for pleadin' not to be eaten, understood?" Desiree leaned forward with her hands on her waist, speaking to the fat one like a mother talking down to her little brat to behave. Gula bounced against the tree causing it to quiver and rain a flurry of leaves and apples below. Despite her large size, her two wide hands quickly snatched an apple from the air before mashing them into her face, munching down the fruit with a sloppy messy dripping all over her face and belly. Na'Vi and Vy looked in disgust, both gagging at the sight of it.

Desiree noticed and smiled, bending down to scoop up Janette's body with ease. "Remember to play safe, and as for you."

Na'Vi made eye contact with her one last time as Desiree winked in return. "Good luck." With that, she walked away into thin air, disappearing without a trace.

Vy cleared her throat, grabbing her attention once more. "I'll make this brief, why do you want KuliKuli back?"

She raised her brow. "Shouldn't her name be Nityri?"

"She prefers her new name. A new identity, one that represents a new life to her with new memories. I ask again, why do you want KuliKuli back? She doesn't love you anymore, you know? She may say she does, but that's not the truth."

Na'Vi flinched, those words stung under her skin and Vy could tell. She smirked, forming a malicious grin as she pressed on. "Oh yes, she does not love you. In fact, she loathes you. She couldn't fathom the thought of once having loved you. Be honest with yourself, you were paired as sisters before. Did you honestly believe she would find a broken soul like yourself as someone she could love? Just how would that work, a monster girl can't mate with another monster girl. How would you have babies? No babies mean no offspring, nothing to leave behind after you pass."

"We... We didn't think that far, and even if we did we would find a way. Nukka and Zimi had a child."

"No, the Nekomata named Zimi had a child whom Nukka adopted and named. But that girl is not related by blood to the bear."

"That's not important-"

"Is it? KuliKuli seemed to think so, Emyri seemed to think so. Syri and Dimyri and all the other girls at the clutter seemed to think so. Adopting you into their family, it's a noble act for sure but you always stuck out from them. Always the black cat, feeling like you did not belong. And now look at you, you're not even a cat at all. You've become one of them, just like your dad."

Na'Vi frowned, pressing her teeth together as she felt her blood begin to boil. "Stop it!"

"Or what? Tell me about your father Na'Vi, tell me what happened to mommy and daddy?" Vy questioned her, pacing around the fuming girl while Gula sat in the back eating another apple. "Tell me how a human swooped in and stole mommy from you. How even your parents didn't love you enough to take you with them. Poor Na'Vi, with no father, no mother. All alone, an unwanted child adopted into a wanted family. You never belonged."

"Shut up you stupid bi-mmnn!" Na'Vi felt her words go silent, reaching up to touch her face she could not feel her lips. Her eyes grew wide with shock as her fingers traced around, finding skin where her mouth should be. She could feel her tongue and teeth but could no longer speak, her words muffled under sealed skin. Looking back, she fell backward as Vy glared at her with bright green eyes.

"Control your lips or I will seal them myself, understood?"

Na'Vi nodded, feeling helpless as her heart began to skip a few beats. Suddenly she could move her lips once more, parting them wide open to take a deep breath. She bent over and faced the ground, panting as the sweat dripped from her head. "What, what did you do?"

"I silenced you, and I can do far worse if you tempt me to. You entered our realm where we are in control, do not forget where you are. You come to us to plead for your ex lover's life, yet I cannot help but see that the love in your heart is one sided. I ask a final time, why do you want her back? Is it for you?"

"No, for him."

Vy chuckled. "Her lover? You're here to bring her back to him, don't you hate him? When you first met him you cursed his name and wished he were dead, and now you're doing favors for him? What is the term those people use again, it was on the tip of my tongue."

She tapped her chin, her face scrunched as she struggled to remember before snapping her fingers. "Is that you now? Someone who takes pleasure in having someone else pleasure your beloved? Hahaha, goodness! Now that's something new, it's not for everyone but I certainly didn't expect it from you. That just shows how far you have fallen, unable to please her no more so you resort to being second best."

Na'Vi kept silent, looking back at Gula as she rolled onto her back to rest. Her round belly rose up and down as she breathed loudly, staring back to her seemingly full at this point.

"You're pathetic, no family, no lover, no friends waiting for you back home, no parents to come for you. If you were to fail here, I can tell you they would mourn her over you. Her **** would be a tragedy, yours would be convenience. Believe me, you have no presence in her heart or theirs. You're nothing to them."

Na'Vi looked back to her hands, her human hands, flexing her fingers and feeling the anxiety build up to near suffocation as those words repeated in her head. Her breathing began to grow quick, her heart grew louder as the beating in her chest would echo in her ear drums. Her face felt hot and her head became sweaty, her knees wobbly and weak as the world began to spin.

Bu-bum. Bu-bum. Bu-bum.

She tired to swallow, she tried to control her breathing but her body struggled to respond. Her heart would just beat harder and louder, faster and faster.

Ba-bum! Ba-bum! Ba-bum!

Tell me how a human swooped in and stole mommy from you? Even your parents didn't love you enough to take them. They will mourn her over you, you have no presence. You're a nuisance, you mean nothing to them. It's all you will ever be, it is all you ever were. It's what you mean to her.

Nothing.

"She's moved on, and you're stuck in a deep well unable to crawl out."

Na'Vi gasped, finding herself at the bottom of a narrow tunnel engulfed in cold darkness. The walls were slimy and coarse, her only source of light coming from the exit above. Glancing up, she frantically tried to climb her way up but to no avail. Her hands lacked grip and her nails did not compare to animal claws for climbing. She wasn't use to having these limbs, she felt her body frantically panicking as her head began to throb from the pressure. Gripping her head, she fell to her knees and wished for those words to go away.

"Are you going to cry? What for, no one is going to care about you. No one is here to save you. No one wants you, no one likes you. No one cares that you lost her, you're nothing but an ex that everyone wants to forget about and move on. You're nothing!"

I can't breathe.

I can't breathe.

I can't.

Can't.

Na'Vi found herself alone, curled up and left to herself in the dark of the night behind a wide rock sobbing to herself. She was half her original size, hugging her legs and panting to herself as endless streams of tears rolled down her face. She buried her head in her knees and was careful not to make too much noise, not wanting to be heard or found. They would just make fun of her some more, call her names and tease her for being abandoned.

Why does no one love me? She thought to herself. Do I not deserve it? Am I a mistake, am I horrible?

Why does it hurt so much!

She glanced up over her head, looking up before sinking her head back down and sobbing quietly as the nest of birds hung on the branch above her watching curiously. Her ear shot up as something moved against the rock, she lifted her eyes and was met with a pair of curious yellow eyes belonging to a young little girl peaking her head over the large rock.

"Hallo, is sometin' wrong?" The little cat girl asked. Na'Vi looked away, wishing she could disappear. But the girl was persistent, crawling over and kneeling beside her. "You look cold and sad, are you oh-kay?"

Na'Vi shook her head, remaining quiet. She didn't know what to say, she didn't want to have this conversation.

"You're the girl that they make fun of during teaching, right? Those girls can be mean." No response. "You know, sometimes they can be mean to me too. One time, one of the girls her name is Mimi, Mimi was being nasty and saying mean things about me telling everyone i have flea's when I don't I was just itchy. So I tells her she is being a butt and she didn't like that so she pushes me. Well, one day I remember she was feeling hungry and I tells her about this place full of green and cherries, and I take her there. So she goes and grabs aaaall the cherries, but what she doesn't know is that the green is this stuff Mom calls poison ivy, and so the next day Mimi comes in scratching her fur all around and I tell everyone she has fleas in her fur, and now everyone calls her flea girl because she kept scratching and scratching for days. Serves her right!"

Na'Vi giggled, it was subtle but she heard and it brought a smile to her. The little girl came around and hugged her, "I can tell the others to stop being butts to you too, maybe that will help. My name is Nityri, wha's yours?"

Na'Vi looked up and sniffed. "N-Na'Vi."

"Na'Vi, pretty. It's cold and lonely here, wanna come with? I can ask Mum an' see if she le's you stay, is dat nice?" Na'Vi nodded and brushed her faced clean, feeling like she could breath again. Letting her take the lead, she felt Nityri wrap her tail around hers as they both walked out from the shadows and into the soft light from the fire where the clutter slept, all while adult Na'Vi watched them from close by.

She felt herself relax as her heart fluttered at the pleasantry of those two girls, until she nearly jumped from her skin when something began sniffing her arm. Pulling back, she turned to see Gula scratching her nose with a puzzled look.

"That's a new smell, tastes yummy." Gula smiled, feeling uplifted with high spirits as she began skipping awkwardly around the troubled girl. "This smell, what is it you call it, love? No, something just as sweet but with a hint of... tangy-ness to it. A slight kick, not as sweet as love but equally strong. Yesss, friendship. So deliciousssss."

"What are you on about?" Na'Vi felt nervous to ask, stumbling as Gula fell on her backside trembling the ground as she wiggled with laughter. Sitting up, she looked at her with those tiny eyes of hers peaking out from her mop head hair.

"Clumsy me, my body is not what it use to be. I need it, I miss it."

"Miss what?" She paused as a sudden growl emerged, its origin seemingly coming from within the large woman's belly. Gula patted her round physique with a look of defeat, sighing.

"Food, it's what gives us borrowed energy to live day by day. Keeps strong, keeps us happy. But no matter how much of your food I eat, it leaves me in pain hoping for more. Hoping to find something to fill that void inside, the endless despair I suffer as my sisters watch me starve everyday. Unable to eat, unable to die."

"Stop it Gula, you know why you're not allowed to eat so quit whining!" Vy raised her voice, stepping in to snap at her fatter sibling. Gula folded her arms, pouting.

"Just a small bite, a nibble out of her happiness is aaaaall I ask. I can taste it from here, I just need to feed one more time..."

Na'Vi nervously backed away as Gula began to make an attempt to crawl to her lazily. "My happiness?"

"Your emotions, it's why I'm here. I use to feed off the strongest emotions across the lands, like an endless buffet to my liking. Ohh, Pryde and Desiree would bicker constantly about what's right for Father, but I did not care for that. I was hungry, and the happiness would fill me to satisfaction."

"And where do you think that left the others to, those whom she devoured their happiness from?" Vy asked, leaning beside the Nekomata. "Ever had a day where you felt inexplicably emotionally drained, where your happiness was absent for a period of time? Could be days, weeks even before you recovered. That was her. Like a dog off its leash, she took to feasting from one town to the other, sweeping the lands and leaving everyone with emptiness and depression to suffer from."

"Then why is she hungry still?"

Gula whined. "Father took it away, my appetite. Said I eat too much and that it ruined many lives, accused me of being out of control."

"You got fat, Gula." Vy mentioned with a look of pity at her moping sister. "You grew wider and hungrier, honestly you disgust me with that look. That filthy hair, those tiny pleading eyes, and the many layers of fat rolling down your side. When I feel at my lowest, I look at you and feel better."

Gula began to sniff, holding back before bawling her eyes out and shielding her face beneath her large hands. She had nothing to say back, simply weeping like a child, hurt from her sisters words. Na'Vi felt pity for the obese creature, glaring back at the green dressed woman. "That was uncalled for."

"Oh shut up you hypocrite, you're no better! I've heard you mock that boy Felix back and forth since you met him. Insulting him for his status, comparing yourself to him as if to show off to your ex. What was on your mind then, when you ignored how KuliKuli would ask you to treat him nicer. Was it disgust for Felix or **** attention from KuliKuli?"

Na'Vi turned away, staring at Gula still crying not to far off, pausing as those words weighed on her. "Was I really like this, so bitter and cruel?"

"Bitter emotions lead to bitter souls." Vy expressed in a matter-of-fact tone.

"I was jealous, I wanted to play a role in her life."

"What role do you play in a relationship when you are neither partner?"

"None." Na'Vi whispered to herself. "I don't have a role anymore. I was... the past."

"The past, something you struggle with to this day." Vy hissed.

"It wasn't fair the way we ended, but I wasn't being fair to them either. To him." Na'Vi recalled her first time coming upon Felix, properly meeting him at Janette's mansion after their attack in an attempt to rescue Nityri from them. "We thought... I believed she was held captive like before, I wanted to save her and win her back. But she wasn't the same person as before... she had moved on."

"Was it due to faulty memory, or perhaps something else?" Vy whispered into her head, walking in circles around the troubled Nekomata.

"Both. And when I told her, it hurt her instead. I was hurting her by bringing her back into the past when she was enjoying a new life. But I never meant to hurt her, I just wish..." Vy and Gula paused as they both began to stare at this time. "I wish we didn't end that way, that I was at least able to say goodbye. I love her, she was my best friend, my center, my family. I miss her, I want her back."

Na'Vi fell to her knees, pressing her lips as she began to tear up in her emotional state. Flashes of memories began fluctuating in her head, memories of her and Nityri playing together when they were little. Memories of them sharing fruit, memories of their first kiss when they were teenagers. One memory stuck to mind as she stared at Nityri from behind, admiring the way her silver hair waved with the cool breeze that day. It was the day after they had both turned eighteen and had completed their maturity ritual, now celebrated and reintroduced to their clutter as grown women.

"Your mom would have been so proud." Nityri's soft words struck her heart like a needle, it shocked her as she snapped out from her state of awe.

"She was remember? Wouldn't stop crying when she hugged us both."

"You know what I mean." Nityri looked back, her expression dropping as she noticed the hurt in Na'Vi's eyes. "I'm sorry, I-"

"It's fine, forget it. It's not my fault she abandoned me, right? I have a new mom now." Na'Vi turned away aiming to leave when Nityri hugged her from behind, stopping her.

"I promise I won't be leaving you anytime soon."

Na'Vi felt her lungs give as she lost her voice, staring forward at what she said.

"We'll always be together, forever and ever. Right Na'Vi?"

Na'Vi nodded and leaned back, feeling hopeful in her heart.

"Forever and ever." She whispered back as Nityri let go before facing her. She held her paws up as the two remained quiet, silently staring into each other's eyes as the emotions and thoughts began racing through.

"Hey, I can be yours again if you'd like."

"W-What?" Na'Vi blinked, realizing something was amiss in her memory. Nityri continued.

"I can be yours again, you can stay here with me and we can live out our lives the way I promised you we would. I can be Nityri again."

"Again." She repeated in disbelief.

"Exactly! No more Felix, no more elves and dwarves and priests. Just us girls back in our clutter with our family like before. That's what you want, right? It's what you've always wanted."

Na'Vi looked down to where their paws met. "I do."

"Then why don't you look so happy, you're not smiling."

"It's... not you."

Nityri blinked before faking a smile. "Of course it's me, I'm Nityri who else could I be. We can fix this Na'Vi, fix our lives make us happy again! We can turn back, away from your broken life. You won't be alone anymore."

Na'Vi held her breath, staring into her golden eyes, those precious eyes that glisten with hope and joy and a hint of curiosity. Thinking back, she longed for the days of a simpler time when they could enjoy each other's company, where gossip passed around and girls talked about boys, where daily teachings were a drag and where they could sneak off to have their privacy together and enjoy their time with each other. She wanted that so much, but...

But this wasn't how she wanted it to happen, not like this. She remembered seeing the collar around Nityri's neck and realizing how Perdilius managed to control her like his pet, a Nekomata ****. How he abused that power and took all of their clutter for his own, stripped them of thought and free will. If she did this, would she be no better? This wasn't a two sided agreement, even if this was her Nityri she was talking to again it wouldn't be the same.

"I want you, the real you, to love me back. And maybe, maybe you do love me, maybe you still have me in your heart. And my heart did break when you didn't recognize me anymore, and it shattered into a million pieces when I learned you were mated to some human like I was afraid you would. But that was my fear, I was the one holding you back. You gave me your hand to help me up and I was too afraid to let go. Too afraid to let you move on, because I don't know if I can. I will always have a place for you in my heart... KuliKuli."

Nityri looked upset, tilting her head as Na'Vi shook her head.

"I-I'm not broken." She teared up before forcing her claws through the hallucination that was Nityri, tearing away the illusion as the image began to howl and fight back, resisting her struggle. She shook her head, now determined as she doubled her efforts.

"And I'm not alone."

With a heavy grunt, Na'Vi spread her paws wide and ripped apart the ghoul casting the world in a dark shadowy embrace.

Nothing, nothing but pitch black coated all that was around her when a sudden beautiful glow grew from far away. Drawn to it, Na'Vi began to make her way toward the light. It was growing ever so peacefully, filling her with both curiosity and hope as she walked closer and closer toward its essence. A halo surrounding this spherical shape, too bright for her eyes to make out what secrets it kept inside. But once she came within five feet the light began to soften as her eyes grew wide.

It was KuliKuli, trapped in a fetal embrace, hovering in a slow rotation within her round mystical sphere. Her long hair flowed as if she were underwater, and her eyes remained shut in her sleeping state. There she stood, naked and free for her to rescue. Na'Vi reached out when a rotten hand wrapped its bony fingers with black painted uneven nails around her wrist, frightening her as she revealed her claws and turned to its origin. She stood face to face with Vy, who retracted her soft normal hand as her grayish eyes stared into hers, her flashy dress now painted in a softer more consistent green color scheme that glowed like emerald gems. Gula stood beside her, a head taller and terribly mistaken if she had believed to hide behind her slimmer sibling, her tiny little eyes poking out to stare as she scratched her behind.

"You're not the one who gets the happy ending." Vy reminded her with a cold stare. "But that can change. I can bring her back the way you knew her as, when she loved you before."

Gula snickered. "Just a clap of our hands and she will be Nityri again!"

"Say the word, Na'Vi. You deserve a happy ending after all you've gone through."

Na'Vi thought carefully, reminded of those days before everything occurred, before Felix, before Perdilius, back when they had each other and it was enough. How she longed to go back when she was happier and bad someone to love and love her back. But...

"I didn't lose her, but if I do this I will be taking her away from someone else."

"That bothers you?" Vy raised her brow in disbelief.

"I don't... like him. But I know he loves her and she loves him, and I can't find it in my heart to take that away. Even if it hurts, I can't."

Vy and Gula stepped back, making way for her to approach KuliKuli once more. Na'Vi reached out, her paw penetrating through the sphere as its flow of energy began to spiral around her and fly upwards. She reached out and embraced KuliKuli, holding her tight and closing her eyes as the world began to spin.

"I love you, even if it hurts. I'm sorry."

And with a flash, they were gone and Vy and Gula were left alone.

What's next?
